In what section would you find a hygrometer at
Wal-Mart? Its a big store and I wouldn't have a clue where to start looking. And probably even most
Wal-Mart associates wouldn't know what one is or where to find it, unless they have personal knowledge of hygrometers.....
Mostly what you will find are hygrometers *attached to* thermometers, i.e. a combo unit. (which is fine)
IME, outdoor thermometers (and thus also hygrometers) are usually either with the semi-outdoors-related hardware e.g. mailboxes and such, or with the garden/yard stuff if your season has rolled around enough for there to BE displays of those things yet.
Honestly, I've had better luck in Home Depot, Lowes, etc type stores as far as selection of thermometers and hygrometers; but if whatcha got nearby is a
Walmart then certainly check out what they have. If the first employee or two don't know where to send you, you can always ask to talk to a manager or go to the customer service desk.
In the meantime, next time you candle (if you are *going* to candle again soon) at least compare air cell size to a diagram, that will give you some clue where things stand.
Good luck, have fun,
Pat
