WOW
So many hatch buddies!
To us all!
I set mine Saturday night.
12 eggs in the LG still air..
14 eggs in the Reptipro 5000.
The LG is a pain in the butt to keep steady. I had it running for 3 days prior to setting at 100-101 degrees. I know after putting eggs in and once they warm up, the temp goes up a bit, so I kept it at 100-101 figuring once eggs are in it may go up to 102. In my still air, I usually like to keep the temps at 101-102. Well... it spiked to 105, but only for an hour or two (I don't trust it so I keep a close eye on that one) Hopefully no damage was done, doubt it. The Reptipro does not hold more than about a dozen eggs comfortably, but I've had issues with that too. Last year almost lost a batch when our power went out and when it came back on, a few minutes later, the Reptipro went up to 140 degrees
. Luckily I heard the beeping and ran down and saved the hatch. Its worked fine since, but still don't trust it fully. Soooo..... my eyes are glued to these. I plan on candling on Thursday. I also set 3 of my own white showgirl eggs to check for fertility. I am hoping my roo is doing his job correctly! Thanks to all that are with me and lets have fun hatching!
Some of you are so brave setting SO many eggs
I wish I had the room to keep so many
