Need advice on a rooster with no legs

Update:
Bay is doing great! On good weather days he gets to go outside and "help" me with yard work. I have tried a few different things for a prosthetic, but so far nothing has worked. He seems to get around just fine, but I'm still concerned about future damage to his bones.
The last time we were outside I let the rest of the chickens out to free range and whenever on of the more dominate hens or other rooster would get close to Bay he would make a low noise and come closer to me. I put my hand down and he leaned into it like "pick me up!"

The big issue I'm having now is that he thinks he can still perch. He keeps trying to fly up onto things. I try to place him things that are high but not high enough that if he fell off he would get hurt.

He is looking good. :thumbsup

Yes life got challenging for him but between your care and his will to live it looks like he has good quality of life.

Have you tried 3d printing him some legs? It might be pricey though. Or you can try using tensoplast tape and tape on some carved wooden legs with feet. You might be able to google some ideas. I found a few ideas. You can go to www.yeggi.com, or www.continuum.umn.edu/creamy the hen or go to youtube and type in how to make a prosthetic chicken leg/feet at home. Hope you find some answers

Thank you for the update! Glad to hear he is doing well.

I wonder if he could “perch” on something curved inward, like a swimming pool noodle cut in half with the cupped side facing upward? Or two boards joined in a V shape with some padding in the bottom? Just to give him somewhat of a normal feel of roosting.

I agree. These may be worth trying.

Just read the first post. I have never seen such a thing. His legs literally just dropped off. Wow. Poor little guy. He's such a cutie too.

Glad he seems to be doing ok. Still has a zest for life and all that.

You could try setting up a Go Fund Me page to get him some legs (if you can't afford them). If people hear his story I'm sure they'd want to help. You could probably find someone who could design and create them.
