The Vi-Tal (and another similar vitamin supplement) is the only thing that I found that is for poultry that Orscheln's (my only local feed store) carries. What is the Poly-vi-sol and save a chick? Where do you get them?
I will be meeting my sister at my parents' house. My parents are home ALMOST 24/7. I have decided to take my Littles (Lucy and my duckling, Lucky) with me on my trip and leave them at my parents' house. My parents have agreed to watch her while I can't, and they are around a lot more often than my friend, so I think Lucy would be better off with them.
I have been continuing to give her the Brewer's Yeast and the Vi-Tal. I think she has gotten a little better this morning after I force fed her some water. I picked some dandelion greens for them and put the greens in their water. I think she ate a few and I've seen her eating the food (with the brewer's yeast on top) as well. When I got up and checked on her this morning, I was having to set her back up every couple of minutes. I haven't had to do that for the last couple of hours, so I think she's improving at least a little. I wonder if she didn't get turned over sometime during the night and couldn't get back up and, therefore, couldn't get to the water/food where the niacin supplements were and, therefore, got worse and worse 'till I set her upright this morning and helped her to some niacin water. Does that sound like a valid theory?
I am so tired of having to worry about her and wish she would just get better! I was pretty upset this morning when I found her on her side and when I realized she had gotten so much worse over night. I REALLY hope this niacin water (with the Vi-Tal in it) and the Brewer's Yeast on the food will be enough to help her get better. My parents will have to watch her exclusively Wednesday evening through Friday evening. I'm hoping to see some drastic improvement when I get back to my parents' house Friday evening.
