So Cute!
Does Lucy have a few bricks on the outside to get in or does she jump in?

Aww she is adorable and I couldn't be happier for you that she is doing so good.. you have a very nice looking flock.I'm a proud goose mama right now! Lucy got into AND out of the big bird pool all by herself! She is growing in leaps and bounds and getting stronger by the day!
Oh, I should also mention that I DO clean the water regularly. My pekin ducks dig holes in the mud and put all the mud in the pool. It only stays looking clear for an hour or two... Needless to say, I can't clean the pool THAT often!![]()
Here's a blurry picture of Lucy getting out of the pool by herself! If you look closely, you can see the bricks I put in there for her to use to jump out.
And, one picture of the whole flock, just for fun.

Hooray for Lucy and Lucky they all look very content and they are beautiful, it's been over 5 yrs since I had a gosling so I can't remember how quickly they got their feathers but she sure does look good.Lucy and Lucky have spent the last several nights in the duck house with the big birds. Today is day #3 that the whole flock has been free ranging. Lucy is growing SO FAST!!! I thought I read somewhere that geese didn't get their feathers as early as ducks. However, Lucy is about 5 weeks old and is getting her feathers... I'm pretty sure she is a White Chinese goose. Is it normal for them to get their feathers so early?
Here's a picture that I took yesterday of my flock free ranging. The black duck is Lucky. Lucy (the only goose in the picture) is on the right.

That sounds about right. I think my white chinese started getting their feathers in at 6 weeks, so Lucy is doing good!
Thank you so much for the input! Lucy is my first goose, and I've been comparing her development to that of the ducks I've raised. Needless to say, they are different. My ducks seemed like they were nearly full grown by the time they started getting feathers. Lucy looks like she's got a lot of growing to do before she's "full-grown". She does seem to be hungry 24/7 though, so I guess that's a good sign!My geese are about 10 weeks old now. They did start getting feathers at about 5 or 6 weeks, but their wing feathers really took off at about 8 weeks. They are still getting their feathers and adaping to those big blood feathers. You are going to notice a big change over the next month.
