Please advise if these are actually Blue laced Barnevelder chicks. I just hatched these out from shipped eggs and now I'm reading that they should have yellow legs, and the eggs I hatched these from were pale brown not dark!!!!

You've got 4 Standard Barnevelders and one Blue. The shank color may just be some breeder's issue
Thank you soooo much! So the standard Barnevelder will not have any blue lacing but will be laced with black? Sorry if this is silly question but I'm brand new to this breed. Thanks.

What happens is Blue doesn't breed true. When you breed two genetically blue adults together you don't get all blue chicks, but you get Blues, Blacks, and Splashes. Your blue chick will grow up to be Blue Double Laced, and your Standard (or black) chicks with grow up to be Black Double Laced

Thanks again. Hopefully my little blue 'Ming' is a pullet! They are all such beautiful chicks and this breed is so gorgeous anyway, I'll take whatever I can get! I won't however, buy eggs from the same people again.
Yea, at least for me I live very near the best Barnevelder breeder in North America so I don't have to worry much about the quality :p

He only sells adult birds unfortunately. He's also in Canada and I don't know if you could get them from Canada into the USA
I should have looked more closely at your location, I would have known you are in Alberta! Thanks for all the information anyway. If you happen to think of it next time you are talking to your breeder, ask them where to get super birds in the U.S. I would love to know!

I will surely ask him when I visit him this fall to get some Bantam Barnevelders from him
