Need Emu hatching Advice ASAP

Hey! Just saw this, sorry.

You might need to help it out - they usually take only eight hours to hatch from the time they pip. Ciara, Egg B on my thread, actually did this - she pipped sometime while I was sleeping. When I found her, she was stuck like yours was. She was starting to dry out in there, wasn't making progress, etc. I popped the shell open and she tumbled right out all good to go.

How? With what? Little by little and tweezers or pliers?
Dumb it down for me please i have never done this before! Thanks! :)

Well I'm brave and I just popped the whole top off at once with my bare hands, lol. But I was confident she was ready. I'm not sure tweezers would really work well on a shell so thick.

Are you still seeing blood in the membrane?

Desi, my first egg, hatched on his own and was still a little bloody. His navel was a little bit open, but closed up quick. So some blood in that area is probably normal. But not up by the head, I wouldn't think.

I will look when i get home. Yes the blood by the beak area confused me too. My second born had an open navel too and it closed up. Im just afraid i start chipping away and i damage something. Is that possible?

Ps yours was nearly out compared to mine. Dont think i could pop the top off lol
