Need Emu hatching Advice ASAP

Yep that's a different one from the ones I'm in. So unfortunately I can't see it. I can join the group but I won't be able to see it until they approve me.
and the video is taking forever to upload on imgur if that even loads videos, not sure. Can I send to you via email or FB? Maybe PM me?

I got in and was able to see it. He's super floppy, but it might just be because he just hatched.

Or, it might be star gazing, which is what I suspect based on what I'm seeing. With stargazing, the head retracts back until the beak is pointed upwards or over its back. There may be head tremors. Sometimes the chick chirps excessively. Does this describe what you're seeing? It happens sometimes with chicks; they hatch that way.

If so, it's a vitamin deficiency. You can add electrolytes to the water. I would also pick up something called Vitamin B Complex, you can find it at Tractor Supply, and you can give him some of that directly each day.

YES! He is going wayyy back and tilting so far back!
So, this is FIXABLE?! I would be so happy if that is the case
So..great we just googled. same thing as wry neck then? Nothing to do with being stuck in that shell for so long?

Thank you for taking the time to look. Anything we can do in the mean time until we can get these vitamins tomorrow afternoon? I guess just keep him separate, warm and quiet. He's not chirping much at all, his feet were shaking and his head was tilting wayyy back.

Definitely sounds like star gazing/wry neck then and yes, totally fixable :) If you got that pedialyte on your way home you might see about getting some of that into him. Otherwise, just keep him warm and quiet until you can get the B Complex.

Hi guys, Egg A has externally pipped yesterday around 10am (so about 21 hours ago)
He has a one inch hole and I see a toe, and a beak, but he isn't really trying that hard to do anything since then.

How long can this take? (Why is there precious little info on the internet?!) Should I put a damp cloth over him if the membrane has dried out? (But with Emu the membrane is supposed to be dried, no?)

I'm just really worried!! But I don't want to help because I know helping is a last resort!

ETA: Egg A was the one that lost the least amount of weight, just hitting over 12% the day before yesterday!
this may help. Cheers Jon

sorry if I already sent this just wanted you to see it. Cheers Jon
I read the post hoping to help since I did help and emu hatch ina zoo when I volunteered once.... but I arrived to late and I was hoping to show you the video I saw on chick alberts channel since he did an amazing job hatching the emu.... sometimes being to cautious can be the death of birds sometimes you gotta do some dirty work....-my senses in the zoo called Larry

I went to check on everyone just now. I thought his neck was okay for about 30 seconds and then I picked him up and it just flipped right back into stargazing position. Sigh. I couldn't get him to drink any of the homemade pedialyte either. I am going to go after work today around 2pm to town and get the vitamins he needs.
