OMG--I've never seen that in the many hundreds of chicks I've incubated. This looks very serioud--I am so sorry but I don't believe the chick has a chance. I'm so sorry--poor lil thing.

Yeah, that's what we thought as well. Poor thing, I'm just trying to keep it comfortable and warm, I don't have the heart to kill it. I just can't. We have two chicks, the mama was a bantam, and sat on the eggs from our other chickens. Tomorrow we're driving out to the city to buy feed, and buy a couple of ducklings for my daughter, we're considering buying a couple more chicks, hens, hopefully we'll be able to put them in with the mama and two other chicks, if not, we will keep them apart until it's time to introduce them to the flock. We need hens that get broody, we had no luck previously, until we got this one, I think the previous owner raises fighting cocks, but I have no proof. She's is the first broody hen we have had. So sad our little chick will not survive, my daughter was so hopeful. Our first chicks that were hatched at home, and this happened. Hope it's the last time, I hate losing our pets. We love all of our chickens. Thank you ladies, for all your help. Hugs to you both for trying.OMG--I have never seen anything ever like this in the 100s of chicks I've hatched out. This is very serious and looks like more than a prolapse. I am so sorry, I don't think this poor little baby will survive. So very sad.
Yes feathersnerd is correct that happen to us just in august and we gave it sugar water and it lived keep us updatedI saw a picture when the baby was like that and it survived with a lot of TLC. But it was an incubatored one. That thing at the behind is its unabsorbed egg yolk (im pretty sure). If you put it under a heat lamp and drip sugar water into its mouth it might survive.
