Need help designing an irregular-shaped covered run

I believe you are trying to find information on deck footings: https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1...hUKEwiWw93kgOvnAhUXHzQIHd5NDdYQ4dUDCAs&uact=5

The first video looks exactly what I was thinking:

I was calling these caissons but it appears those are for bridges and are different in structure :he
Yes! This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks. I was finding the videos where people drill through the footings after they’ve set, but this makes a lot more sense. Thanks!

I just realized that if I cut the rafter ends to be flush with the top plate’s vertical face, and I put the facia boards flush with both, they will close the gaps between the rafters completely so I won’t have to bother cutting jaggedy HC to cover them with! :celebrateSo definitely no overhangs then.

The first video looks exactly what I was thinking:
..or you can just sink a bolt in there to use the adjustable post base.
Concrete tube broke and he fixed it....only pic of bolts I have.

Good news!!! The inspector just called. He said that my predicament is very common and there are, indeed, lots of “illegally placed” coops around town. And that it’s not a problem until somebody complains. He said that I’m fine with the coop where it is, but that he’s not allowed to say that so “this conversation never happened” 😁 Wohooo!!! Now I just need to hope the one neighbor in question is okay with the coop. But the coop has been up for half a year now and no complaints about proximity yet. Also, since they’ll be building too close to the line themselves, hopefully they won’t be inclined to complain about me. And as far as the town is concerned, I’m fine. Aww, I love my town!🥰

I'd suggest if any of your current neighbors move, you hustle over to greet the new neighbors with some "hush" eggs.

That's great !
