Need help for Alfred!

He seems to love me and Ben pretty equally, Ben helped him out of his brooder yesterday the naughty brats! They are never left alone together unless Alfred is in his box in the closet and Ben is in my room gated in and I run to the bathroom or Ethan's room. And then I'm very close and it's only for a second.

So I bought Alfred a baby Appleyard and a buff girl (hopefully, based on coloring I guess?) they are named Osito which means little bear in Spanish (if any of you have ever seen destinos, you understand lol) and M&M (she's got a mask and I was looking at her and thought masked murderer so calling her M&M) they are about 5 days and out of show quality parents. Osito's markings are much more defined then Alfred's, but Alfred can just be a pet duck and not go to fair if need be lol. I'm just hoping Alfred and Osito are not both boys!

Finally moved into the big box today as you can see.

As you can tell Alfred is close to twice their size, but he likes them okay. He still gets snuggles though. He doesn't care for Bentlee's kisses anymore, which makes the poor guy sad

Well Congrats on Alfreds new friends. looks like he took to them like a duck to water, keep us updated on their growing friendship.. Nice size brooder.

Thanks ML! Little M&M has started to warm up to me, but Osito is having none of this! Alfred has started running away a bit when I go to pick him up, but still loves snuggles. Of course the daycare fell in love so everyone needs to see Alfred at least once a day now, so he still gets people time lol. M&M and Osito stay in the box because three is too many to play with at once without losing one I guess

Well Alfred no longer peeps for mommy and has started to run away when I reach into the box

he did help me write my paper though.

Here is a pic of Emmy (easy version of M&M :)) she looks almost like a runner to me sometimes, but that's impossible as the only three types of ducks the breeder had were SAs, Buffs, and Shetlands. And she's not a SA and since the Shetlands were a pre courser to the Swedish I would assume the babies look like Swedish too so she's got to be a buff. Do they stand so straight usually? Osito and Alfred never do

Never a still moment with this girl!

Alfred is no longer lonely. That's a good thing. As for him "running away". I gave that some thought once. I think it's about how you try and pick them up. Think about it from their point of view:

See? Scary, huh? Try coming up on him slowly and from the side. That may help.

Yikes! I do pick them up under their tummies though, so at least they can still see!
