Need help identifying what happened to my feed

He is loaded with coccidia. Texas kiki my apologies. You were right about the oregano. I don't understand one thing. Why did his cecal stools look totally normal?! I suspect he never got over it. The vet said he's no doubt anemic with this load of coccidia and that the yellow urates are from the anemia. I feel so lost right now. I went through three rounds of corid and here we go again. It works great while he's on it but then it comes back. Is there any other option out there? Clearly I am going to start corid since that is what I have and this needs to be started asap. Please help me again with dosages and bolus dosing. This is awful news but at least I have answers.

I have corid liquid. He mentioned he has something that starts with a P. He's going to call me back in a bit to find out about medication. I'll get that name from him. It's for cattle I think.

I do have Albon at home as well but its sulfa. I have a hen a few years old with liver impairment. I have to be careful with sulfa drugs since I'll be treating them all. Is baycox a sulfa?

He weighs about 4. Could this explain his staggering?
I'm glad that you were able to get testing and get some answers!
I agree with Kathy (Casportpony) trust your vet, he will give you what you need.
I would appreciate it if you keep us updated on his progress though.

Yes, a severe overload can cause loss of balance and a lot of the problems you are seeing. Hopefully getting him treated will correct it and he will start to gain weight, color and thrive!
Here's some reading about Coccidiosis in poultry. E. Tenella affects the ceca in chickens

Thanks I will check those out now that I'm home! I just got him a bolus dose of 0.4 cc of corid plus I am placing all of them on corid at the dosage of 2 tsp per gallon. I found this info on here from casportpony. One hen has had looser than normal stools and I suspect she has it as well and also minus the obvious blood. I will discuss it with the vet for sure but I think my plan will be to do corid and then follow up with the medication he has for the rooster only and I will plan on doing routine stool checks on him through the vet. I'll know more regarding the meds when I talk to him.

ETA Could this in any way be tied to the feather loss? Will he ever become immune?

Sorry for so many questions. This has plagued my life now for four months. I have had enough and have so many questions and concerns so I can get on this and be done. I have sanitized and moved the house yet it keeps coming back. I'm just afraid he's always going to have it.

Bloody stools are generally considered to be from Coccidiosis, but something like Enteritis can also present with bloody stools. If you feel he is anemic, get him a direct dose of Poultry Cell for 3 days in a row.
Should I treat with an antibiotic as well? Also I picked up poultry cell. The dosage says 1-3 cc daily during periods of stress. Is that the dosage you recommend as well?

Don't give the poultry cell now. It has thiamine in it.
Wait until after your treat the coccidiosis to give it.
Thiamine isn't good to give with Corid. It can make the Corid not work...so to speak.

Ahh I didn't realize it had thiamine in it. I hadn't even looked. Thank you for the good reminder. I knew to avoid his powdered vitamins. I'll just continue with the burger for now. He really needs iron desperately.
