I use puppy pads for the first week. Sometimes they can eat shavings and get blockages. It's rare, but can happen. After they're a week old you can switch to shavings or straw. You guys have any recommendations on what I should put under them? Pine shavings, paper towels, or something else?

Yeah, I have had several chicks eat shavings. Pulling those out of their throats with tweezers is not fun, lol.
