She loves her soft kitten food. She will eat a whole can.

If you're absolutely sure she will eat the whole thing, you can. Maybe give it at her normal meal time and mix it into a small portion of food that you feed first. Some cats/kittens will notice the different smell though, so it would be better to just give it to her in her mouth.

We'll try the syringe way first, I guess. If it doesn't work out, we'll mix it in her food as a back up.

Well... tough luck. Usually it's fruit flavored for children/dogs, and cats don't really appreciate that. Glad you got it in her!

It smells sweet, not like fruit though. I thought she'd either like it, or not.

Cats (and kittens) are carnivores - they actually can't taste sweet at all!
