Need some prayers for my puppy... update post #22 & post #101

OMG... I cannot believe this just happened.

I put up a negative review on Google saying something about the Parvo and that I have reason to believe that they have mother dogs in the back that are still nursing pups (they put the pups out on the floor and then bring them back to nurse every so often). A few hours after I posted the review the owner of the store (whom I talked to before and said I could have a refund if the dog died) called and asked for me. This is the basic gist of the conversation:

him: I just read your review on Google about the nursing puppies. That is libel and I suggest you take it down right now. You can be sued for that.

me: I... (he cut me off)

him: You can't just put stuff like that on the internet. You need to take it off now. You slandered me.

me: I did not slander you... (he cut me off again)

him: no, you're right it's libel. You better take it down right now. I can file a lawsuit for that. Take is down NOW. Do you understand that?

me: Yes, I understand. May I say something?

him: just take it down.

me: I understood what you said. Let me say something... (cut me off)

him: Unless you're apologizing or saying that you're taking the review down I don't want to hear a single word out of your mouth!

me: *click!*


Holy shnikeys. He was pretty much yelling the whole time and would not let me get a word in edgewise. I changed my review to something that stuck to the known facts but I hate that I had to do that. What a bully! And the way he reacted tells me that he probably does have mother dogs in the back... there's not other reason for him to act like that. I'm still shaking from the conversation.

I would take the review down.

I never review anything until everything is resolved.

I hope everything works out.

If I take the review down he's getting what he wants... which was bullying and threatening me. No store anywhere should have puppies for sale with parvo, and I think people deserve a fair warning before they buy from there. Even if the puppy gets better or he dies and I get a refund I would still have written the same review. If he does die and I don't get my $ back I will go to the better business bureau and the media. He shouldn't be in business if he can't take care of his animals and customers properly. He is affiliated with another pet store (The Puppy Store) down in florida and has had similar issues.

I think you just made matters worse for yourself. I wouldn't have written anything until you came to an outcome with your puppy.

I CAN'T believe this guy did that! I would think he'd be bending over backwards to make you happy after all you've been through! I would definitely call the local TV stations, he needs to be shut down. We had a puppy pet store in our area and it is finally closed, thank goodness. People actually picketed it. Every baby that came to our vet clinic from that place was sick or genetically deformed.

A quality breeder will not sell to those places, but will check each owner prior to sale, and will allow potential owners to inspect their breeding facility (home, kennel, etc.).

I'm so sorry you're having this experience, and I really hope little Bolt pulls through.

Yes, he gets what he wants....for now.

If you have to sue for a refund, how much time and energy will that take?

Once you get your refund or whatever, you can put the review back up.
Sometimes you have to pick and then time your battles with an eye to the final outcome.

Your information on the other puppies, while from a probably reliable source is only hearsay.

I would have waited to put up a review till after everything was resolved but if it was not resolved to my satisfaction I would be making big, splashy waves. *HUGS*
