Need your help with this chicken. is this respiratory disease? * includes video*

Hello,

Yes, I will be keeping them away for 2 weeks at least. They are not very happy in the dog crate, everytime they see me they want to get out but they will be punished for they deeds.

Regarding the closed eye, just gave them some greens and she eventually opened the eye but it has a sort of watery bubbles in it. When I have an extra hand I will wash it with tap water and a seryinge.

Pictures attached of the good and bad eye. I only noticed this today and I almost swear it was not like this yesterday.

Washed the eye, seemed to have a very small feather stuck. Not sure if this is part of her feathers or not.

After washing eye is closed again. More pictures (lazy time for 50% of the flock).

Will keep close attention to this tomorrow, usually for how many days we need to keep washing the eyes?

And some more pictures. When she can open the eye it is still with the unusual shape.

The unusual shape is probably due to whatever respiratory illness they had. Sometimes you see that with chickens that have Mycoplasma. I would use saline instead of tap water to rinse the eye. You can make your own sterile solution by boiling 1 teaspoon of salt to 1 quart of water for 15 minutes. Let cool and flush the eye. If you have any left over it can be kept up to 24hrs in a sterilized jar.

Do you have access to any eye ointments or triple antibiotic ointment? You could put that in the eye after it's flushed and debris/pus is removed.

One teaspoon of salt to 1/4 litre of water? Is that what you mean? You use gallons in USA so I would like to know.

About the shape of the eye I made a mistake in my last post. I meant that whenever she can have the eye open it is with an Unusual shape and not usual as it was written. Already corrected it. Her eye was never like that.

Today I followed the chicken with the eye problem closely and it was open everytime I went to the coop, like 4 or 5 times during the day. It was almost normal in shape.

I just went there after they go to sleep and she has it closed again, only one eye is open.

Since she seemed fine during the day I had not washed the eye, maybe I need to do it even if it is open right? Saline water recipe like described it will be.

It won't hurt to rinse it with saline even if she is able to keep it open.
