Neighbor's chickens over here. Mad as Heck!

I second that. At least 6 ft. Chickens will go where there is food and there is food at your place. Other than a fence you will either have to kill them or trap'em and haul them off or give them away. If they are over in your yard all the time, apparently the 10yr old neighbor kid doesn't really care about them.

If they start disappearing a little at a time, maybe they'll start keeping them penned up. You can say you saw a large dog roaming the area.

6 ft. fence would COST them dearly . CALL the police and file a report . IF there is a city ordinance , SHOULD OR MIGHT say chickens have to either be in cages , or closed in RUN /COOP AREA . ALOT of places DO NOT allow free ranging . and thats exactly what they are doing .

The way I see it, you have two choices.

1. Build the fence. If any of them fly over into your yard, catch them up and trim their wings. Then they won't be able to get over...at least until their flight feathers grow back, then trim them again!

2. Catch them up and take them to the pound. Either your neighbor will have to pay to go bail them out (something which he will tire of eventually), or he'll leave them there and they'll be gone. If he gets more, and they come into your yard, take them to the pound too. If it gets to the point where it hurts his bank account, he'll be more willing to keep the birds on his property.

I would try this before the airsoft gun
My neighbor's duck kept trying to go into his neighbor's yard so he would shoot bottle rockets off above them as soon as they set foot on his neighbors property, and now they are terrified of that side of the house!!! I t worked for him, bottle rockets are cheap and loud and sound gun like, just aim above them, and pick up the empty rocket.
Good luck

Your right, this shouldnt be your problem. Does your neighbor know just how much its angering you? Let him know whats going on with your chickens when theirs come over. In the meantime, you can call animal control to speak to him and give him a friendly warning. (Anonomously)
