Neighbor's dog

As of now, we have an open yard and last night we kept a mama chicken and her chicks in her cage as we are making more room for them, but this morning some chicks were gone, we think it was the neighbor's dog because it always comes to our yard. What legal actions can be taken? We also don't know who the dog belongs too and don't want to confront the wrong person, well we have a hitch but we have no evidence of the situation since the cameras were not recording that night.

So are you saying the chicks went missing from the cage?
Show us a picture or describe the cage.
Open yard means no preditor is excluded from posibility. You have seen the dog but not seen all the other preditors that are in your yard when you are not looking.

Since it is impossible to fence all the predators into a space for them you need to fence them out of your space.
