Nevadans?

I also raise Bantam and Standard chicks together including Seramas which tend to be one of the tiniest, although I monitor them closely as they start growing incase someone is getting trampled alot.
These are some of the chicks I hatched last weekend:
Standards>
Buff Brahmas
Cochins(Black/gold and Lemon Blues)
Brahma/EE cross

Bantams>
Dutch
Silkies
Plus I have 3 lavendar Orpingtons and 3 Blue Standard Cochins I purchased.....

The Dutch and Silkies are tiny compared to the other GIANTS LOL
I have bantams and LF together and they do just fine.

Sunny I will check it out too!! I am already joining another Easter hatch on FB so why not sign up here too. Thanks for the info. :)

OK I agreed to join the Easter hatch for Kim and now I see that I am the only Nevadan on the map! Yes they are a little obsessed over there, they have a map with everyone's approximate location. Anyway, can I really be the only Nevadan in the Easter Hatch? Feeling a little lonely here.

Just in case anyone else is hatching too...

They are setting chicken eggs on the 17th but that isn't a hard date. In fact you don't even have to be hatching to join in but it would be hard to resist if you were on that thread with all the talk of setting eggs.

OMG! They are rubbing off on me. Here I am trying to recruit hatchers!!!

Jann, Please don't feel sad or guilty about your little chickie there, this stuff happens all of the time. Sylvia is pecking on Wynonna now, it started last month when I went to the store and when I came back I found Wynonna hanging upside down because her toe nail got stuck in the fire pit and there was good old Sylvia pecking away at her. She was out cold too, I picked her up and took her away from there and she came out of it very fast but scared. Then Sylvia followed her around trying to peck her so I put Sylvia in jail and it stopped. Yesterday Sylvia decided it was fun to peck at Wynonna again. So Wynonna lost her feathers on her back. Sylvia is going to jail again. Luckily no one is injured and it's not a protein thing because they get plenty of protein and vitamins.

Perhaps the ACV will help this? I really needed to pick some up since I only hear how good it is with humans and chickens.

Okay guys, time for some baby Peteys! I got to see him by the way, he is even more handsome than i remember! His skin is completely red now haha. I love him

So Julie collected five eggs from his pen, and of that five eggs four hatched. All hatched with naked necks LOL! go Petey! He was in with a white silkie and a black silkie, so were still trying to figure out what color those little chipmunky guys are gonna be.

These lil guys have opposite stripes.. :D

This lil blackie has a huge vaulted skull...

Fluffy Butts!!!

I get too carried away with pics.

Awwww so frig-gin cute!!! I can't believe how adorable those little fluffy feet are!!! And I'm glad you post lots of pics! That is too much cuteness to fit into a tiny post!

Thanks for the pics Julie! I can't seem to ever get too much fluffy cuteness!!! Once I get rid of a few roos I may have to talk to you about a couple of Buff Brahmas.

Oh I'm sorry!

Well you did try your best.

I have 1 little yokohama right now that seems to think that's his den. He needed a little help at first but now he's fine but gets upset if I put him down for too long and peeps and peeps until I pick him back up. It's hard to get anything done with a chick in hand so... I almost took him to the dance tonight! But finally decided he needed to learn to stay with his buddies at some point.

I say "he" because it does seem like the boys peep a lot more than the girls but I have had a couple of loud pullets so who knows? The comb is awfully tiny on this clingy little chick.

Awesome!!! When you sign up tell them that Wolftracks sent you over so she will get credit for it. Thanks! It will be so nice to have a fellow Nevadan hatching too!

Oh Aubrey, silver ameraucanas look like that too as chicks so that bodes well for silver or blue feathering. Of course so do hatchery EEs and they aren't usually silver or blue. Oh who cares? I am sure they are gonna be gorgeous either way! Seriously adorable!!!

Thanks Sheryl, are y'all getting super excited for tomorrow or what? Rumor has it a gc marans was just hatched and is close to age as my babies
wink.png

Oh man!!! I love the look of the GCMs! I just can't fit any more in on top of those that are already on their way! In fact if I get too many pullets out of these hatches I will need to build yet another coop! Not that I would mind another coop. hee hee Hey everybody, can you all keep your eyes peeled for another good shed find for me? I think I am gonna need it soon.

Aubrey, I notice you have a feather duster with your babies. Does it make a big difference in their comfort? Would you recommend that or stuffed animals?

I'll have to depend on everyone else to post chick pics from our Cali trip! The digital camera and ALL of the connection cables are halfway across the world right now, so I couldn't even download them from my camera phone. I can't even email pics from my phone, because T-Mobile upgraded the software and I refuse to pay several hundred dollars to fall into a fad that I just don't need. Maybe when this phone dies, I'll actually upgrade.

2.5 hours until we leave!
