Nevadans?

So do pullets do the cock-fighting thing this young, or is it mostly just roosters?

Oh yeah I've had pullets do this many times. I've even seen grown pullets take on a roo this way. I had one really mean marans girl that hated Poppy! She would attack him like this every time he got too close to her! He had to learn to give her a wide berth to avoid her wrath!!! lol Poppy was probably so relieved to go to Ron's house!

Sunny, while spending some time with the rooster chicks today, I realized one of the roosters is a dark "blue" wheaten and one a wheaten.

Haha Well that narrows it down.

sunny you can have ANY of my many roos the 3 that are devloped enough to tell what they are boys baciscally right now they are all boys but one. Whant if a chick has gold feathers down center of its neck but a few feathers on the edge of its neck with some black is it a boy or girl?

Funny, I don't think of potatoes being even certified but when you mentioned they put something on them to preserve them I recall a conversation I had with my son who works in the produce dept at a major grocery store. He told me that the apples were picked, then sprayed with that preservation stuff and then sit for a period of time before they can ship them! I had no idea it's months after picking before they even hit the grocery store! Yikes! Guess I'll go back to buying the starters from the nursery

Cool! Yes I still want 5 of the buff x wheaten. She is so pretty and I will enjoy having more like her. Besides I don't like the number 4. lol

Weird. This was in response to Candy's question but for some reason the quote didn't appear!

Pam the only straight runs I know of getting more roos are the polish orders. Aubrey had a terrible time and I got quite a few more roos too in my order from a different company. A lot of other folks are just nervous and judge too early. Normal since those that can't keep them hate to get too attached if they have to get rid of it soon.
Last year I got 3 Roos out of 9 from the pullet bin from one place, 1 out of 4 on a pullet bin from another and two friends had a similar experience. One friend bought 6 chicks, got them past the brooder, gave away 4 and the two she kept were Roos. It use to be when you picked from the pullet bin it was rare to get a Roo.

Is Aubrey still having trouble with the new format? Sure miss her posts. I think she has an iPhone and wanted to tell her about an app I found that I think was recommended here on BYC but it makes navigating almost better then on my laptop. It's called Tapatalk.

It use to be so hard to read BYC on my phone that it was too much work to post. Maybe this app would help those who use their phones, I love it, especially after my surgery, even holding my laptop can be too much so using my phone is a treat!
