Nevadans?

I have a noon appointment to give blood. It's a double donation, so Russ is going with me in case I'm too woozy to drive home. And we can't leave the house until his snake lets go of his finger!

Looks like i have found homes for both roosters with 2 different people. rehoming on sunday and monday if all goes as planned.

Well I now have 3 breeding pair of the standard pearl gray guineas, 2 white keets, and 2 powder blue keets. All are safely put up for the night. My first impressions are that I will never get between the most dominant male and his mate again! I have never seen such a nasty aggressive display in my life. Not to mention they have talons like velociraptors! That may sound like I've taken on more than I can handle but since I got them to kill/run off snakes, and scare off/alert me to predators I think they should work out quite well. Plus the little ones seen quite friendly. I'll try for some pictures tomorrow.
hope they work out for you! i'd like to see photos.
Let me know if you want to get rid of a breeding pair.
I ordered my Rat Zapper tonight. I'll let everyone know how I like it when I get it.
rat zapper? I'm intrigued...

Wow, is that early? I look at my babies and still see them as babies. But then, it's a relief to know that mine are all girls... except perhaps the silkie. I'm suspicious of him. The little black walnut on his face is a little big for my liking. But he's still peeping like a newly hatched chick, so I guess I'll have to wait and see. I hope you find homes soon! They're so pretty!

So... I have a good friend who always asks to tag along when I do my preserving, because she wants to learn. This is the one that got stuck sharing in 25 hours of grapes last year, voluntarily. And she still came back! Aaaaanyway... I brought up how I'm trying to fill the freezer and dry storage, and she wants to learn how to blanch and preserve stuff... and I told her that she can buy produce and we can do all of ours together, including the older kids... (deep breath) So here's the point I'm getting to. Friends With Benefits, homemaker style. If anyone wants to preserve food and needs a little help or know-how, we have a small group of people that shares skills, then shares food. My friend took away 10 jars of peach jam last night. Another friend is willing to grind any corn I get this year, and I'll give her some of the corn. If anyone on here is interested in this sort of thing, let me know. My kitchen can only hold 3 people at a time, but there is so much shared knowledge and resources swimming around this place... if you want to share, let me know.
My niece is interested in learning canning/preserving. She lives in Reno, too. I'll ask her if she might like to do something like that. I'm too far away for it to be practical for me.

So will you be breeding the pearl grays? I might be interested in acquiring some if you are...

Hey Ron,

I figured I would basically let them live their own lives. So if i end up with keets I'll be happy to share. Unless you want eggs to hatch on your own? I have them penned up right now, and they'll stay that way for at least a month until they know where home is. My only real intrest in them was as an alarm system and as snake eaters. So I'm not planning to raise them for food, or on collecting the eggs.

Depending on how this hatch goes I may have some to place. I'm really thinking about Hot August Night, so if I go I could get them as far as Reno.

Mouse/rat/ground squirrel goes in and gets fried bye bue mousie. I paid $65 with shipping from the only place that wasn't sold out. I've read great things about it. The best being you never see the rodent. Which works well I'm scared to death of them.

I don't do hatching as of yet, but might be interested in keets.

Cool! Reno is not very far away for me - maybe an hour to downtown. What kind are you hatching?

That sounds pretty cool! Where did you get it?

I order it from farmtek.com only place not sold out.
Let me know on the hatch Wolftracks.

There were a lot of varieties and the seller sent everything she had at the time, so some will be ???? and I had lavenders before and I saw them listed. I can't find the pm. I never get rid of hardly any, but after a while they all look alike :(
