So uh... you know how some women might buy an expensive outfit and hide it in their closet for a month or so, then pull it out and say they've had it awhile but the husband just hasn't noticed?
Um... do you think I can get away with that when the hatching eggs start hatching? He won't be mad at me for ordering them, but there will be a lot of eye-rolling and teasing going on.

Speaking of which . . . I have chicks hatching today2 bantam buff laced Polish, and 1 blue wheaten Ameraucana have hatched so far. Another BLP, BW and two bantam Belgian Porcelain d'Anver eggs have pipped. 2 more W/BW and 2 d'Anvers to go. 9 bantam buff laced Brahma eggs go into lockdown today and 3 bantam BLRW eggs are due to hatch in 2 weeks. And I am thinking about buying eggs to put under my now 4 broodies! I have never had so many broodies at one time before!!![]()

welcome!Hi everybody I'm new to this area and the board. Glad to see so many yardbird lovers in the Reno area. When I'm not on my phone I'll post pictures of the growing flock. One juvenile hybrid polish roo named Hendrix, 3 pro. Red pullets, 3 Cali white pullets, and a black orp/RIR pullet. The pullets are still a couple weeks away from the coop though

good to know it's not a very useful method. I was never so desperate that I tried that method. Probably won't unless curiosity gets the best of me.Exactly right.
I doubt it will work on dark eggs though. When I did it, I used blue on one, green on another, and red on another one (she had plenty of fluff to hide it). My birds lay white eggs and most of the time, they barely made a mark on the eggs. I had to do the food coloring every morning as it didn't last. Don't freak out when the first poop is a strange color!
