I think we are planning a get together at the Carrows(?) after the poultry show. That is about 4 weeks from now. I sure hope the weather is good this year.

Thanks for asking Sunny, They found another break in his knee, but they said that since he will be bedridden for a long time it should heal u on its own, phew! Also he got moved out of ICU and into a real room with a window and a TV so thats awesome, lol. I think they want to try and get him into physical therapy next week but I am not 100% certain. Hes in pain but he is responsive to it and to me thats a good sign :) I think its gonna be a long road from here, but i am just happy that I will still have my Dad to walk me down the aisle next year :)

I have no idea what is going on around here anymore. With Mark's stepdad in bankruptcy and dying his mother wants to get as far away from his assets as possible and is willing to hand the house to us at no profit to her. Its got $30,000 left on in (four years or so). I really hope we qualify or else were totally out of luck. poop.

I've had to use too much of the money I ut away to buy a house and I DON'T quailfy for squat and prices are going way up way fast. Looks like I'm out again, so I sure hope things work out for you.
 
Thanks kim. I honestly hope this works out. Mark has fair credit and mines probably the same so i am worried. I dont wanna move, as much as i complain i like it here and i REALLY like not having a landlord to answer to!

Same here, but I think I missed my boat. I was getting 10 to 20 emails a day and now I get 2 maybe 3 a day and some of those are only 1 house. Only acreage I get I'd have to build and I can't afford to hire that out and getting to old to do it like so many in my family have. It sucks! When you rent, you're just one month from being homeless.

Oh that is great! Do you have the 10% down? They will usually ask for a down payment of at least 10%. That would be so awesome if you could get it!!!

We are looking at a property next week that the folks want to lease to own to us. It has about $90,000 left on the mortgage and all they want is enough money to move back to Alabama then we would take over the pmts. Not sure at all if this will work out or not, at this stage. I love the house we are renting right now but this is such a good deal I don't know how we can turn it down unless the story they are giving us changes (which I suspect may be the case). Only time will tell.

Kim have you looked into leasing-to-own? It makes sense for someone that is upside down in their mortgage to look into this option instead of short-selling when they have no choice but to move. With a short sale they get nothing or next to nothing out of the sale. With a lease to own they get their mortgage paid and usually $10-$20 thousand from you. It can be cheaper for you and much better for them too. I wouldn't go this route without a lawyer to draw up the paper work though. I mean a lawyer that is working for you not for them.

I know it sounds like good news but it's terrible news because I do not thnk we wil be eligible for a loan. I have absolutely no money to put down unless I cancel the wedding. I don't see how we would make this work

ETA mark is talking to a real estate friend of ours who is gonna try to get us in touch with a really good loan officer
