Nevadans?

I know it sounds like good news but it's terrible news because I do not thnk we wil be eligible for a loan. I have absolutely no money to put down unless I cancel the wedding. I don't see how we would make this work

ETA mark is talking to a real estate friend of ours who is gonna try to get us in touch with a really good loan officer

First time buyers programs can really help. A good agent should be able to make it work for you.

A great loan officer can work wonders. That is really such a small loan and the payments should be very small as well. Unless your credit is horrible it shouldn't be a problem.
Thank Pam, I just talked to my mom and she put me in a much more positive mood too

Yea Mom!

I'm so ticked. Had a great day doing some stuff in one of the coops, got some time to sit and enjoy the chickens, got TWO blue/green eggs from one of the May hatch girls plus everyone seems to be done with their molt and laying again...I go in the house to make lasagna for some friends who's husband was coming home from the hospital and when my husband goes to feed one of my baby Marans has gone missing! This is the group that came sick and I lost 1/2 of them, now I've lost the little cockerel. Better then one of the girls but I wanted the roo. He was already very handsome.
Well, here's a pic of all the eggs....and my husband even found another one after I picked these up.

Here's a picture of one of my stunning EE Cockerels (he's for sale if anyone is interested).

I see the missing Marans in this picture, back by the trees, and in a sequence of 5 picture of this cockerel, I see just these two, no third one that's a pullet, yet I know it's the cockerel gone because the girls combs and wattles are nothing. So easy to tell what sex they are!

Oh Dear, I hope he's all right! What a miserable night to go missing. Hope he finds a warm place to stay tonight and comes home in the morning.

I hope you find him! And the EE cockerel is indeed stunning!

Novice gardeners... in case you were wondering how to handle this frost...

If you pick the rest of your tomatoes today, most will continue to ripen in your warm house. Same thing with peppers. If you have a plant that's still loaded with green fruit, cut it off at the ground, then hang it upside down in a garage.

Things that can just be tossed into a freezer bag: tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, eggplant, onions. If you have time, slice them first... it's a lot easier slicing them before freezing than after they're thawed. And remove the seeds from the peppers.

Basil will not live past tonight. Pick it all and make pesto or something.

Winter squash doesn't necessarily have to be picked tonight because a light frost won't harm the fruit. But it will kill the plant, so there won't be any more growth past this. So you can go into the garden in the next couple of days and gather your squash. If you're not sure they're ripe, put them in your sunniest window and eat the ones that look ripest. Zucchini and summer squash all need to be picked tonight.

European crops will be fine. Carrots, broccoli can cauliflower, spinach and chard, beets... they can stay outside for a few more weeks. No rush.

I don't know how many of you still have gardens going, but I know I'm going out today and gathering all my tomatoes.
