Nevadans?

I'm good for either, but I vote lunch. Before noon, so we're not fighting lunch rushes at Carrow's to find each other.

tolipgirl, you're welcome to tag along with us. :)
I might just take up that offer if my fam doesn't want to come along.

(They aren't as obsessed with chickens as I am

Last egg hatching I had two that went to term but didn't pip. Thinking they might be shy or late bloomers, I left them in the incubator after removing all the chicks that had hatched the day before. Gabby, our St. Bernard cross, is FASCINATED by chicks. The mere sound of peeping (even on TV) will have her come running from another room.

Anyway, long story shortened, I came into the room where the incubator was and the top had been knocked off and there was one of the two eggs in the middle of the floor! I had no doubt who the culprit was as Gabby's nimble lips can pluck a single solitary sausage out of a frying pan without disturbing the others. (Did I mention she was a big, tall dog and very agile?)

We're still having debates here months later as to what her intentions were......
Haha, I have a french mastiff, she isn't very agile. Haha, she likes to lay down and eat her food if it is too hot. She gets her kibble EVERY WHERE!

Guess what ?!?! i got my first Lf cochin egg that makes 3 out of 9

It was brown like a production red egg but rounder. with my luck she will be broody by the show

Breakfast or lunch works for me, but I would vote lunch. Carrows has amazing Cream of Broccoli soup and I haven't had any in years!

Oooooh, I love broccoli soup! I wonder what day they are serving it? When I went with my Dad, a few weeks ago, I didn't see it available.
Sunny we have no news on the house. We probably won't have any for a couple of months which I am glad about
Thanks for asking also my dad is doing well. He got to go home yesterday and they're gonna send a physical therapist to his house everyday to work with him. I'm happy he's home, that hospital was like a stuffy prison
hmm.png
how's your pop? Flu getting better?
I can't blame you for that! You've got enough on your plate right now!

COOL!!! That is so awesome that your Dad finally got out of the hospital! Great that a physical therapist is gonna be there at his house. They put me through the ringer after my spinal fusion but once a patient's at home without supervision it is too easy to slack off on the exercises and not do them as often as they should be done. Sounds like he is gonna need a lot of work to get back some quality of life. My Dad says he's feeling fine now. Still talking like Lurch from the original Adam's family show though. lol Thanks for asking!
...
Wooohooo on the fruit trees! Where are you planning to plant them?

I'm past 10,000 words!
celebrate.gif
Thanks for asking! As long as we don't have any huge upsets, I can accomplish this goal. But I'm sure the novel won't be done when the 50,000 words are.

Right now Sahara is sitting beside me with my portable word processor. She wants to write a 5,000-word novel for NaNoWriMo.

Like I said, either work. I think I'm just more partial to lunch because I'm spoiled and like sleeping in a little.

I thought I'd plant them up on the berm to shade that living room window that gets so much afternoon sun. From what I've read, being up a little hill can keep the fruit from freezing too early. Cold air will hopefully flow down to the lower areas (although, as I used to tell my students, cold air only settles below warm air, if the air is cold on top of cold there's no help for it).

Congrats on the writing! Tell Sahara I said "Way to go!!!"

I have to admit, I love to sleep in too. Just doesn't happen much these days. I like to get to the show early in case there is something I just can't resist.

either breakfast or lunch is fine with me.

Well, we haven't heard any more complaints but haven't asked either. I think it's much quieter but that may be my biased opinion. also, less are laying right now due to molting and less light etc so that naturally makes it quieter. so for now, it's okay.
Yea!!! That's good to hear!
Ok cool. Mine is a week shy of 7 months.
Well I guess that means I have awhile to wait. My cochin girl is just 4 1/2 months.

I can only do lunch since I won't be off work the night before until really late. I'll get home between 1am - 1:30am. All is good if it turns out to be breakfast though. I'll just go to the show to see who's still around. I'm glad I was able to take the full day off for this, if only I could get off work earlier but I can't.

Missy, you had me so worried at first about your tortoise. I'm so glad you were able to find it before anything did happen.

Elizabeth, I'm glad he's not complaining any longer. Things are quiet here as well with the flock. Everyone is very calm.

So I cracked opened one of Monique's eggs a bit ago and it was fertilized and today I saw Leroy courting her. It was so cute it made me laugh out loud. Leroy did his dance around her and I watched her turn her head and kept watching him. All of a sudden he stopped and stood there. Monique looked at him and sorta just walked away. It was as if she said not now dude I've got a headache, or something to that nature. The older chickens are really accepting him into the flock.
