Nevadans?

I am breeding for show so I am sure I will have a few extras the only problem is my hens aren't laying yet I was just seeing If there were any roos around.
Which too is bigger and do you have pictures of them?

If you are breeding for show you need to use a rooster that is from the same line as your pullets. Some lines don't mesh well with each other. Your hens are Paul Smith x Pips&Peeps.

Funny... Our truck broke down too. We had it all loaded with stuff to haul over to the Farmer's market but it wouldn't start. Steve went and got a new battery but that wasn't it. We'll try the starter next.

What are your friends looking for specifically? What I have a lot left of is the Chocolate cherry tomato plants. I didn't get around to dividing them up so there are lots of them plus I may have a few extra of the Reisentraube yellow tomatoes. Both of them grow well without a lot of fuss and are delicious tomatoes. I'll be starting a lot of the normal Beefsteak like tomatoes soon. They mature a little faster than some of these Heirloom varieties so I start them a little later. They pop up in just a few days to a week so they will be ready to plant in 4 to 8 weeks.

*bored aristocratic tone* Isn't it just so highly inconvenient when trucks break down?

I'm sure my friends would be interested in those. Basically, I've been sending them my list of what I've started, and they've been jumping to get on my reservation list. So, as I start selling them, I go down the list and the first ones on there get the best of whatever variety they reserved... and on down the list. I plan to care for them until mid-May so I can sell them all hardened off and ready to plant after the last frost. If you want, I can take your extra seedlings and just care for them with mine, and can pass the money back to you when they sell. (Or I can work off the price and resell them.) So far I have 57 seedlings reserved, and about 100 cipollini onion starts!!! Word is spreading that we have good plants here. I need to open up that commercial greenhouse!

Oh wow!! When you guys get ready to sell more, I'll buy some.

Seth, I actually think theyre about the same size, but I'll check. I'll take pictures soon too, if not tomorrow, then Thursday.

Boo, I'm crazy tired. Typed a huge six page essay analyzing East of Eden (Has anyone read this???!) then found out it wasnt even due.

By the way, Kennel cough is going around!! Axle has a case of it, the vet thinks he picked it up from the dog park last week. If you don;t know the symptoms, it;s just weezing and coughing, and vomiting up white foam, but I guess it can turn into a bacterial infection if gone untreated. So if you guys take your dogs out, watch for Kennel Cough.

Well, that's it for me, Night guys!

I wouldn't mind some of those onion starts myself. I'll be using them to keep pests away but I'm sure I can sell them at the market when they mature.

Thanks for the heads up! Goodnight Lacey. I'm fading fast myself. Time to hit the hay.

I wanted to let you all know that (Peep_Show) Dee's Mom has passed away. You regulars know that this was not unexpected but these things are always hard on a person, no matter what. She wanted us to know that she will not be on here for awhile since she's facing a lot of work right now on top of dealing with the loss of her Mother. I hope we can all honor her request to avoid communication for awhile. I know you all care for her and want to convey your sympathies but right now she is not up to chatting. I completely understand since this is exactly how I felt when my Mother died. She will check in when she feels up to it. Thanks all!

Not all of them have sprouted, so I'm not sure how many I have yet. It was a 200-seed pack, and two people have requested 50 apiece, plus I want about 50. If I have a good sprout, I'll pass some your way. Cipollinis would sell SO WELL at a Farmer's Market! Especially if you braid them.

Are you talking about chicks, bunnies, ducklings, or seedlings? As far as mine, my reservation list is getting pretty long and 3 varieties have sold out. So, if you want any tomatoes/peppers/eggplants, PM me to get on the list or you might miss out.

Hugs, Dee. I don't know if you'll see this, but my heart goes out to you.

We love you Dee!

Missy, any news on the potatoes yet? I'm going to start my garden next week with the hardy stuff. Swiss chard, carrot, onions, radishes and lettuce. This is really going to be a challenge for me because John is gone weeks at a time now driving so he can't till the garden for me. I get to try to do it this time, let's hope my health can hold up to it.

I've been on and off lately just hadn't posted anything much lately with so much to do around here since John left and working too.

When I ordered them, the site said they would bill/ship in early April. I'll let you know when the payment goes through on my credit card, and hopefully we should expect them about a week after that. I don't think it should be much later than April 15th.

Do you need to borrow Joe? They're home for spring break on the 8th and 9th, and this upcoming Saturday as well. If you have a tiller, I could lend you Russ for a couple of hours on one of these Saturdays.

ETA: Oooh ooh I know!!! Another friend said she'd lend us her tiller to do our garden. We'll just do yours at the same time! We'd just need help transporting the tiller, since our truck is down and we don't want to put a dirty tiller in my friend's new car.
