Nevadans?

Welcome Egg Yolk!!!

I can't believe how many folks from Dayton we have on here.
Dayton is bigger than you'd think just driving through on Hwy 50. All this talk about heat is reminding me - I need to open the windows on my coop!

Sheryl and Sunny, I checked the potato site, and it says sweet potato slips start shipping around May 6th. Which is good anyway, because those babies would keel over in a frost. If either of you finds yourself with a few more slips than you need, I'll gladly buy them from you so I can try some out.

New babies! A beautiful Serema ( who has turned into the mama) and two chicks that are supposed to be Ameraucana silkie mix. The brown baby looks like she could be frizzle!

Duckie pictures! The duckling hatched out just fine, with two broody moms. I had some chicks I adopted from Green's on Friday to lend to my friend's kindergarten class. They came back today safe and sound. Just to see how things went, I put both broodies in my dog kennel with the duckling and the 10 chicks. Both broodies cuddled up together and welcomed all of the babies in. The hatchery chicks took a little time figuring out what they were supposed to do with the fluffy mamas. I stayed around to see how they would do, and it looks like they can co-parent those babies perfectly fine.

The duckling is Welsh harlequin x blue Swedish. The feathers are a really pretty silver, quite a bit lighter than the daddies were at that age. I'll try to get more pictures in the daylight, instead of with the harsh flash.

If anyone is looking for hatching eggs I have my list so far on the California thread. I have more available, but I swear I was trying to separate into flats to make it easier and with no counter space in my kitchen, it's impossible. I give up after trying for an hour. Maybe I need sleep. LOL

Kim do you have any SQ birds? Or a list of everything? My grandmother lives in escalon so I could grab some eggs
when I come to vist her and possibly some for others if they were intrested

I was going to respond yesterday to your egg overload, offering to pay for postage... then I gave a bunch of chicks to my broodies, and I don't have a spare broody!
