Will do, I am still trying to find my camera, but if I cannot find it by sometime tomorrow I will take the video camera out. We took the back wall and built the brooder all the way across it and then split it in half so that we could have two separate sides but if we need to we can remove the separator board to extend the size. So it is about 2 ft by 8ft.

I will get you some pics of it soon I hope...

I am getting excited about this weekend, I was outside earlier and I could smell snow in the air. I am a little anxious about how much we are going to get. I would LOVE for it to dump about 6 ft over night but most likely it will only powder dusts us. No matter what happens hopefully it will hold off on snowing until after the Poultry Show. Unfortunately I am going to miss the show but I hope that those ppl who are going, stay safe getting there and back and that you have a wonderful time!

Oh I wanted to let anyone who is interested to know that I am looking to sell off my White Crested Black Polish. I just found out this week that one of the 3 of them is a rooster ( I have kind of suspected for a while now but it was confirmed this week finally) and now that he has come into his maleness I really do not need ANOTHER rooster. I do not have any plans on breeding them and with all of the other big girls they just get pushed around a lot. Both hens lay an egg a day, and all three of them make a really cute group. They are VERY friendly, they are held and hugged and loved on constantly by my boys so they are really used to ppl, especially children. I am putting them up on CL's but if anyone from here is interested let me know. I was going to put them up for $30 for the trio but if someone from BYC would like them I will give them to you for $25. Send me a PM if you are interested.

I will put up some recent pictures but for now here is what they looked like when I first got them a couple of months ago. They are actually a lot bigger and way more fluffy now:

Well I have to run, when I fell down the stairs coming out of the chicken coop yesterday I think I ended up cracking a rib so sitting in this chair makes it hurt worse than normal. If I do not get on here for the weekend, I hope you all have a wonderful time at the Poultry Show and those that do not go I hope you stay safe with this potential storm coming in this weekend.

It seems like the CA Tractor Supply Stores are located in the central valley ag towns (Modesto, Galt, Oakdale, Gilroy, Bakersfield) and not really local or convenient to anybody in NV by a couple hundred miles, so it kind of makes sense that if you're there in Central CA that you should use it. The coupon expires 12/30/10.

Send me a PM of your address if you want it. I promise not to put you on any mailing lists.

Well, its snowing again here in Elko.

I was wondering if anyone is interested, I have a Blue Swedish Drake and 2 Magpie hen ducks for free. The 2 females are laying eggs. I know there are some duck owners in Reno, so if any of you are interested in driving here you can have them for free. The Blue Swedes are in Watch and the magpies are in critical according to the ALBC, So I would prefer to give them to a good home, not a duck-dinner home.

I wish I was closer, I would LOVE to have them! Alas I am in Pahrump.

Cool! I will have EEs in the spring but I have none right now. I need to get through the holidays and then I'll finish the incubator. The EEs are laying fertile eggs now but the incubator isn't finished. If your friend can wait a little while?

Yes, Kim. I saw you had mentioned about poor Bonnie.

We had the worst luck with roos from our batch too. Oh well. When is the January show? Don't know if we could make it but if we are heading down anyway...

Eglyntine bite your tongue!!! 6 feet?!! Reno would come to a stand still! Nobody around here knows what to do with that much snow (including me)!

I went to the poultry show today but didn't see much I was interested in. Half of the ameraucanas that were there were EEs, not ameraucanas. There were very few birds for sell and that was what I went for but I got there after 10am so they may have had more earlier.

nooo, i got there at nine am and there was hardly anything for sale. i went to see the silkies but they had them closed off for judging (i dont understand why people wouldnt be allowed to still look at them while the judges were going around)

but golly they did have some pretty birds there. made me want a speckled sussex REALLY badly, lol. that and a darn rooster! oh, and a bantam pen.
lol.png

but yeah, as far as bird for sale it was a dud. i was thinking about the female frizzle blue cochin that was only five dollars, but she was bantam and i was afraid my girls would eat her alive. i sure did feel badly for her and her mate, though, as they both looked like they had been through hell and back

it was neat going to my first show anyways, i didnt get any into any new breeds, nothing really popped out to me as beautiful except roosters, haha. oh well...

I'll have some EEs soon, so depending on what the person at work wants I can let you know what I have in a couple weeks.

Feel the next to go to Reno after Christmas anyway. LOL

Sunny I also have another thread with Bonnie on it and everyone there thinks pullet. Go figure. I thought I saw saddle feathers coming in, but there are none and this bird hacthed April 24th so think they would be showing up by now. We'll see.

Either way I love this bird. Just means I need to add girls. hehe Here's a link to that thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5163682#p5163682

The
January show is the last Saturday I think in January. Don't think it's Sunday, but ths is a huge show, so you all need to come on down!

Hard to tell by those photos. I'd say wait to see.
Show sounds like fun. If the weather cooperates I'd love to go!

Genny! I should have known Hubby was home! It's the same reason I'm rarely on here friday to sunday. DH is home then.
