wow thats awesome sunny. im so jealous. I just eggtopsied my first egg last night. It was so far along and beautiful. Couldnt bring myself to do the other three. ill have to today though i guess
Good luck with the hatch Sunny. I woke up yesterday to 108 degrees on my locked down eggs. Temp dropped and I messed with it then I fell asleep in a chair before could go check on it. Today it wants to show 98. May have lost all my expensive eggs. I sure hope not.
Did you see those links on the other thread that I left for you? I'm trying to harness train Wascal, but these girls???? Think they may be too old for that, but giving it a shot. They're great on a grooming table. Walked all over it at the show, but they're freaking out here. Gotta build a hutch now. I haven't even finished coops!

Yep, I'm taggin' em as soon as they are halfway dried out. Can't keep track of them any other way.
Have only had 2 of the EEs hatch out so far but there are quite a few that are pipped right now. I have 12 ameraucanas that have hatched and most of the others are pipped. One does not look like he's doing well but the others are already rambunctious as I'll get out! 9 of the 12 are already in the brooder. I'll get pics of all of them later.
Kim! I'm so sorry to hear about all those pricey eggs!
I had mine on an oven/meat thermometer with an alarm so that if it goes above a certain temperature an obnoxious alarm goes off. This thermometer is a leftover from the old days when I didn't have a thermostat but I had some temp spikes with this bator too during the first week and I'm thinkin this meat thermometer is going to be a permanent fixture in all my bators (much to my Hubby's horror)!
No I haven't had a chance to check out those links, I've been glued to the show here, but I will check them out tomorrow or the next day.
Aubrey I'm proud of you! I started to open up the 2 quitters from my hatch but then decided I'd rather not.
I am already getting chick fever, I ordered The Australorp by Ray Connor and have been reading up on Australorp standards so I have been out with the girls the last couple of days culling over them. I want to hatch out some eggs soooo bad but we just do not have the space right now. I want to wait for the second coop to get built before I start but you ladies are making it soooo difficult to wait. *LOL*
hey there all. new to byc and nevada. I've raised chickens my whole life with my family in rural colorado, but recently moved away from them to northwest Reno. Im looking to start my owwn flock here; i love the fresh eggs and the experience, and my australian shepard/ border collie loves to "herd" her flock. Im looking for more info on the laws pertaining to raising fowl in the reno city limits and surroundin areas. any help would be greatly appreciated.
