Hi Kim! I haven't hatched any of these eggs yet since my roo just reached maturity but I have hatched some from the same breeder as my girls came from and they had a great hatch rate. The roo came from Adamson acres from a super dark egg but his fertiltity rate is unknown at this time. I'll shoot you a pm tomorrow afternoon. Right now I need to rest this stupid back of mine. It's acting up again. I've got 8 FBCM eggs in the bator right now or I'd plunk some of his in now. My folks let all the birds out at once while we were gone so I thought I'd better wait another week anyway to be sure they are pure FBCMs not 1/2 black Ameraucana and 1/2 FBCM.

I also need to take another look at the B/B/S Am group to see what's what. The mystery chick is a roo (and not an ameraucana at all) but I haven't looked closely at the others recently.

Do you mean the Lav Orp?

After 'dispatching' 4 male chicks last week, I combined my remaining chicks in the growout pen. There are 10 of them (3 from the 1st hatch and 7 from the 2nd). I know, well, I'm pretty darn sure I have at least 2 more males in the bunch...possibly 4. I'm hoping just 2. One is a blue (should be copper) Marans. He's kinda lovely. I may be tempted.

I'm excited to see what we end up with from the eggs I got from ke_ben. Just another week and a half. Come on May 31st! I have one broody on your eggs and the other on eggs from our other goat&chicken friends in LV.

Oh, that's what it is! Well it's a boy so he won't be hanging around much longer. Too bad he's a pretty boy. Ok I just looked and I also have 1 girl out of the whole bunch! Now I wish I hadn't looked. I could have stayed in denial a while longer.

Not hardly worth all the time and trouble was it?

Remember I said I wanted which ever was a roo? You took my boy! LOL

I can top ya. I hatched out a bunch before we got that order. All roos but one.

What's everyone thinking about their not being a State Fair this year?

I haven"t ever been to it so no opinion here. I think it is sad. The Vegas media tried their best to cancel the county fair here saying that it was canceled when it was the state fair, but they never corrected or retracted so attendance was down quite a bit.

The fair here does fairly well finance wise with the rodeo and all, thanks to lots of local volunteers and in spite of stupid people!

These are the marans mixes I got in the last hatch. See the 1st one on the left...boy! Not as much feathering on the legs as yours.

Can't compare with Babe yet cause he's still a babe himself.

I think I may have one BCM and one Pene/BCM as well. I'm HOPING the BCM is a girl!!! The rest of them are boys. *sigh* I just want a Marans girl...any mix...whatever, but all I seem to hatch out are BOYS! Argh!

These are the marans mixes I got in the last hatch. See the 1st one on the left...boy! Not as much feathering on the legs as yours.

I'm having the same problem with the last couple of purchases I made. Almost all of them were boys except for my wheaten ameraucanas. I got one pretty boy, just like I wanted and now I find out I can't keep him. He has 2 girls in with him and I was gonna put my 2 other wheaten girls in with them later on.

Reno should have combined the rodeo with the fair! That would have saved some money and brought in more people.
