Nevadans?

BRRRRRR!!! That would not be a good place for me to work! I'm a baby in the cold!!!

Thank you for the nice comments about the dogs! Now that I finally got a bunch of pics to the expert she says that Delilah isn't all that small. She said the females are always smaller than the males and feminine looking. Also says that her color is not bad either. I do like Samson's coloring better though. But any puppies would likely be at least a little darker since dark is dominant. She is a little concerned the lack of tests the previous owner has done on her hips and spine so she says I need to get the tests before I consider breeding them to make sure I don't pass on any problems to the puppies. So I'm gonna take her into the Vet and have her start the tests.

The final tests are done at 2 years of age so Samson will have to wait but they can do a preliminary exam and can get a pretty good idea of his health from that.

when are you going to show them?

If all goes well, do you have any idea how much moolah the babies would cost? I want a good herding dog (didnt you say he's from herding lines?

) I may be jumping the gun by a lot here, but Im curious.

Btw, the next frontier: Emus!! Mom's soo thrilled.

Ha ha! Tyler put you up to this didn't he? He wants to show Samson but that boy needs a lot of training before I can even walk him comfortably!

He is from working lines all the way and much happier when he has a job to do vs. being a pet or show dog.

Emus?!! How cool is that?

IDK how much I would charge at this time. A lot depends on how much work goes into this venture but you know I always give BYCers a huge discount! Especially my fellow Nevadans.

That is a HUGE difference!!! Silly me. We had a female shepherd when I was a kid too and she was also very petite. Even more petite than Delilah. How funny that I kept assuming these 2 dogs were way undersized instead of realizing that the males are just that much bigger? I've had so many male dogs in my life and the last two rescues I had were siblings (1 male, 1 female) and they were almost identical in size. In fact the female was a tad bigger.

I just kept looking at her and thinking how petite she was by comparison.

Don't blame me.
Seth is like my minion though.

Morning all.

Just finished placing an order for chicken wormer - I ordered Valbazen $37.49 - to use off label (of course) on the chickens. It DOES treat tapeworm (thinking about all the trouble Sheryl has had with Bella - I am going to treat the flock for it "just in case"). It is a large bottle (smallest I could get) and will treat approx. 1000 large fowl. I also ordered syringes.

While I do have a LOT of birds.............I am not even close to 1000.

SO if anyone wants to buy some - I will just charge you the break down in CC prices and the cost of the syringe - for example a large fowl gets a 1/2 (or .5) CC dose. Bantams get 1/4 (or .25) CC. This wormer is squirted down their throats. It does not take care of any external lice/mites.

The syringes are .65 (sixty-five cents) and the Valbazen is .04 (four cents) per 1/2 cc. The syringes are 3 cc - so a full syringe can treat 6 large fowl.

Birds are dosed twice 10 days apart and eggs are tossed for a total of 24 days - from the time of the first dose. So you would worm on the 1st (say) and start tossing the eggs, then worm again on the 11th and continue to toss out the eggs until the 25th.

The wormer will not be here until next Wednesday

so you have time to decide if this is something you want to treat your flock with.

Thank you Genny! I would love to have some of that too. I need to use 2 different wormers so the worms do not become immune to the treatment. With all of the studying I've been doing on this and we are a dry climate then we should only need to de-worm them once to twice a year unless we have issues then we would need to de-worm quarterly. I'm waiting for Sundae to finish her molt and then I'm going to de-worm them again and I was going to order the Valbazen. If anyone is interested in any of my Ivermectin please let me know and I also have pen-G too so if anyone has a hurt chicken please don't buy any instead just pm me and you can use mine at a much lower price then what you can buy at the feed store.
