Nevadans?

Hey guys, I just wanted to get serious for a second and pass on a message from Sunny,

She hasnt been on for the last few days due to a family emergency. Her mother is not doing very well right now and I'd just like to please ask you guys to send your thoughts, prayers, and peaceful vibes their way. It's not looking good right now and Sunny is spending all of her time away from home and in the hospital with her mother. I'm hoping we can reach out and let her know that were all here for her in her time of need.

Is there anything we can do for her, in addition to prayers?

She has a lot of family showing up, Don't know how close anyone is to her, but even showing up and just dropping of donuts or anything might help. Or even getting a shopping list and going to the store is a great thing to do. She won't be able to visit or yack, but I bet she'd appreciate anything. Trust me it does help.

She's not handling things well right now and she'll know when she can. It kind of seemed though that she wasn't comfortable with trying to explain or talk about things. Just something that goes with the territory and not something you can deal with as soon as people think. She'll need some shoulders though, so keep those available when she can handle it.

It's tough to have your world up-ended. Sending Sunny lots of comfort and coping vibes from way down south.....

Returning to the egg-labeling debate...
At Whole Foods they had two different brands of "pastured" eggs. (What I'm guessing is about the closest thing to what we have, if we let our chickens run around the yard.)
-Did not say "vegetarian fed."
-Did not say "free-range" or "cage-free."
-One brand said "organic," one didn't.
-DID promise that the chickens get to run around in the sunshine, eating grass and a natural diet.
-Invited consumers to check out websites for pictures of the flock.
-Cost: $8 for a dozen large brown eggs.

I think I've got my questions pretty much answered. Now, when people ask what our eggs are worth, we have a comparison to give them.

I keep telling people mine are a bargain at $3.50 a dozen.

Sunny,
I will be praying for your strength and healing for your family. We will all be thinking of you.BIG HUGS.

Awesome! So are ou going to try to breed them Sheryl?

Yes we are Ron. They are Welsh Harlequin's and the breed is on the critical list. I'm trying to help the breed remain here. They are one of the most prolific layers. A good layer will lay up to 330 eggs per year. I have 2 females right now and 1 drake, I'm going to Stockton Saturday to find 2 more females.

I plan on letting them breed next year or sale eggs if anyone wants to buy the eggs to incubate themselves anytime.
