So glad he's feeling better!
I really want a sturdy fence. We raised a bull calf when I was a kid and he was always getting out and scaring the neighbors half to death. I don't wanna have to go chasing my cattle down.

Lacy, What type of fence? My daughter is really good with fences. She has helped me build them for years. We have about 100 feet of dog ear fence to relocate soon. It's harder to move a fence than build it from scratch. But we got no money lots of labor.

Morning all! I've been on here but didn't post anything in the last few days due to working a lot at work but more so at home.

Aubrey Dog ear fence is where the sides of the boards are cut on the top, I think it's the type of fence in you have in your backyard if I'm not mistaken.

WElll My Fiance was offered a job at both the reno costco and the carson city one!! we are looking at small ranch properties neat the lake just north of carson city, Looking for around 2 acres with small home where horses. dogs and seramas are welcome!!

We got two more sections of siding up on the coop yesterday. My parents arrived in the afternoon and will be here for a week. I'm working today but will take off tomorrow and hopefully we can get a lot more done.

I removed the paper towels covering the pine bedding for the chicks. they were eating some but also eating their food so hopefully they'll be ok. My one pasty butt girl still had some but much less this morning. She's the tiniest chick so I hope she'll start growing a bit more.

Welcome to Nevada and the Nevada thread!

FYI, I think you are talking about the area around or west of Washoe Lake?

DH and I looked in exactly that same area when we first found out we were moving here. Some beautiful properties out there, very reasonably priced, close to Washoe lake and the mtns that separate Washoe valley from Lake Tahoe, close to a beautiful park and Carson City etc, etc. Well, there's a catch. It's in a flood zone. Ask the realtor about it. Ours didn't inform us of this when we looked at the property but when we talked to our insurance guy (before making an offer thank goodness) he told us that much of that area was in a flood zone. When we asked the realtor if our property specifically was, they admitted that it was.

Still we loved the property so we crunched numbers trying to make it fit for us, somehow... there must be a way...
No the fixes were too costly and the property would never be worth all the money we would have to sink into it to avoid the extremely high increase in insurance. Now if you're renting it might be a different story, unless you are partway up the mountain sides and even then the roads in and out may be blocked during a flood.

Anyway, not trying to be a Debbie Downer, just trying to give some information so you know what to ask your realtor and insurance agent about. Best of luck in finding a great spot here in Northwestern Nevada!!!

BTW I just added you to the opening post! Could have sworn I'd already done this but I just checked and hadn't, so now you're there!
Congratulations on the transfer!
