Nevadans?

My BBB turkey last Thanksgiving was 36 lbs. dressed. We had to cut him in half, too. One half we deep fried and the other half we did in the oven.

Yeah, its not something i am very certain i am excited about since mark is an avid surfer of the santa cruz/pacifica area, however we are excited about the porposes! When we went on a surf trip last summer to san onofri they got to surf with the dolphins at arms reach the entire trip and it would be awesome if they could get that in nor cal too

Loads of great whites in nor-cal. The Faralon Islands just outside of S.F. Bay is rife with them as it's a feeding spot.

My brother-in-law surfs in Santa Cruz regularly (where he and sis bought a house just so he could) and hasn't seen a shark yet. But my cousin's kid -- Shane Desmond -- sees them regularly and I think may even have a pic of him surfing and a fin in the wave. Eek!

I was at Pescadero at the light house whale watching about 10 years back and saw the killer whales attack a mother and calf that were migrating close to shore. It wasn't pretty. (Hmmm.... methinks I'm seeing too much Nature drama)

BTW.... I love, love, LOVE "Shark Week" on Discovery Channel. My favorite shows of all time. Of course, the chance that I'll have to use my new-found skills of being able to identify the five most deadliest sharks on sight don't have much use down here in the desert. "Card Shark" and "Loan Shark" are more like it and don't count.....

Okay,

When my youngest son got married the Military moved his stuff to Georgia for him but the catch was it had to be moved from the address he used when he enlisted. So he had to be moved from our house. Well his in-laws gave him so much stuff there was no way to fit it all in my house. So we had to put it in the driveway and someone had to watch it. So I said I would since it was their honeymoon and I didn't want them spending part of it in my driveway.

They came by the house around 2am and wanted to know what I was looking at and I told them there's this owl on the pole across the street and it's whooing. It's so cool. Well, Alan says where's the owl and I point to it. Just as he turned to look another owl jumped right on top of it and started you know what to it.

I turned the brightest red and he busted up laughing at me and says so does dad know you stay out all night watching owls go at it? I'm telling dad right now what you do at night. I couldn't stop from laughing but let me tell you, he wouldn't stop bugging me about it and if anyone would listen then he would tell them what I do at night.

Ughhhh!

LOL!

Reminds me of at the ranch when the barn owls were romantic. If you thought lead-footed pigeons on a tile roof were loud, it's nothing in comparison to the screaming and rollings and bashing of amorous owls. OMG! It sounded like a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer were duke-ing it out with aliens and falling off the roof....

You just reminded me of the time we were flying to Florida and the flight attendant was doing their in case of emergency. They said should we land in water please remove your life vest under your seat and put in on in the plane before exiting, once out of the plane please inflate your life vest and run as fast as you can through the desert!

Cecelia thank you! I know you live a lot closer to me than sunny so it might work better. Prescilla laid me an egg this morning too! I hope hope HOPE hers are fertile because polish showgirls are my number one project that id like to try this spring

welcome! glad you joined us.

OK this stuff used to make me sick to drink it, but I had a horrible sinus infection once and my husband made me drink Alkaselzer (sp) He brought some home from the hospital on night for me. Anyway within minutes I could breath. I didn't even know up till then that it worked for anything other than indigestion. Now I take it if a cold or flu starts to hit and I can breath and function.
I haven't tried alkaseltzer for sinus. we do have some at home. at this point, I'll try anything! I read that putting some apple cider vinegar in white and drinking that all day helps thin mucous, so I'm trying that today.

Welcome to the Nevada thread littlekatzz! I tell my husband this too and he blushes deep red everytime! And it is so darn cute! We've been together for 13 years now.

OK I have to tell this story now. Remember the huge cougar print I found last week? Well I told Steve I wanted him to be sure and avoid it cause I wanted him to see it and not smudge it up before I got a pic. Well he forgot and walked all over it. Then it snowed. I mentioned that we would know if the mountain lion was still hanging around cause the snow would show his tracks well. So he went out hunting tracks.

A short time later he came into the house saying, "I found some really huge tracks, you've got to see these to believe it!" So I throw on some boots and a warm coat to go out and see what he found. He did find some very large tracks, from a very large jackrabbit! I tried hard not to laugh I really did! But it was just impossible to not laugh at that! That's my adorable city boy!

My eggs should be here Friday I guess,so I will let them sit a day before I put them in.So that puts me at Saturday. We live in Spanish Springs.Im home all day everyday,so just shoot me a PM to let me know when you wanna come out. I check my eggs after about a week to see if they are developing,so you will know within a week if they are fertile or not.

ACV is good for everything! I keep it stocked and always have. Matter of fact last week my oldest daughter, who manages a grocery (major chain) called because she had a customer with questions about it. When I finished answering I heard her say, "See I told you she could help. We grew up with bottles of that stuff around." Funny how they didn't want to learn everything, but they know where to go when they need to find something out about it.

I was in the grocery store and I cruised by the eggs... Ok, I want to make sure I'm right on assuming this. If eggs are from a chicken fed a 100% vegetarian diet, that means they don't get any bugs or worms, right? And the only way to make sure they have a 100% vegetarian diet is to keep them inside so they don't have access to bugs?
