Nevadans?

Thanks for the Welcome! Considering when I was born Mesquite had a population of maybe 5,000 now we fluctuate between 15-20k depending on the time of year. I do like Cedar though, except for the snow.

There is a Silkie/Showgirl Rooster on Craigslist for free.Is it from someone on here? He is really handsome!

I couldn't find him. Maybe he's rehomed already and the post got taken down. I did see the black and blue ameraucana roosters for $25... I'm keeping my eye on that post because, if my lavender ameraucanas turn out to be roos, I don't want to just advertise them for free. Those guys would be worth a bit more.

Sometimes I wish we could have roosters in the city. But considering I might have ordered too many chicks this year, it's a guilt-free way to reduce the flock a little without choosing which of my beautiful pullets has to go.

Cecelia, can you post pics of your chickens? They sound so pretty.

Aubrey, how's the show going? Did anyone else make it down there? Sheryl? Will Sunny be able to make it? How's she doing, anyway? (More good vibes going out.)

He is still on there. You have to go under the pet section to find him. I will post pictures in a minute...

My Cochin Hens are all Black, and My Cochin Rooster is Blue. They will throw Blue,Black,Splash. They are all molting at the moment. I have 12 Cochin eggs in the Bator. Each has a 50/50 chance of being frizzled.Fingers crossed for blue hens...

My Lavender Orpingtons are always a light gray. They are directly from Hinkjc. My Rooster died in October,so I have a new one,but he is darker and isnt as"good looking"as my hens,so I have a Shipment of Eggs on the way so I can hatch me a new Rooster.

Im sure I will have extras of both breeds if anyone is interested.

Beautiful!!! I would love to have an extra. I already have a blue cochin pullet on order from Ideal, which should arrive sometime after April 15th. A splash sounds great if you have an extra, or a lavender orp. I would love to have a frizzle, too. I'll have a few black birds coming already, so I'm not too interested in more. A pullet would be great, since I would just have to get rid of a roo anyway. If you find yourself with any of these extra, I'd love to buy one.

Today we had the kids' 5th birthday party. they turned 5 on wednesday. We invited some friends and their families over. There were a total of 6 girls and 3 boys. I was way behind on my party prep but some of the parents graciously helped me throw it all together. I stayed up very late last night decorating 2 cakes. they turned out good. I will post pictures of the cakes in a few. We had a piñata and the kids had a fun time.

that is good to know that some people actually sell a rooster. I wonder if someone will buy him.

gorgeous birds! I love the cochins. I ordered 2 blue ones in my ideal order with Missy. lav orps are really pretty too. I'm sure plenty on here would be interested in extras including me but I probably should restrain myself since I have quite a few chicks coming from ideal along with 2 lav ameraucanas tacked on to Missy's breeder order. chickens are so fun to collect!

WHEW WHAT A DAY! I had so so so much fun but ill have to tell you guys about it later and show you all the great pics i got.
glad you had a fun time! can't wait for photos!
