Nevadans?

Crazy, now they show up again....sorry for all the pics!

I'm glad Sunny saw it when it wasn't showing more then a bunch of numbers. I'll see if I can delete one of them.

Kim, I sold my incubator within hours of finishing my hatch...I obviously take it too serious! It was all consuming...although I did "nest" and my house hasn't been that clean in years! Course I was to tired I don't remember falling and breaking my tibia. OK, I'll admit I wish I had one....a good one...not one I have to babysit.

Pam, even if I can't have roosters, I can still covet ours. I especially like the guy on the bottom left.

Awe, that's Bob, he's a love bug too. His crest would be even bigger but my girl Cher like to peck it. He has that purple stuff in it now so hopefully it'll grow out. He has too big of a comb but he's such a personality! He's on my lap the minute I sit down. I really haven't picked out who's going to stay.....

Well there's your answer....why leave a job you're happy in for no more money. Glad they made it easy on you to decide.

On the humidity....and I've only done this once but you don't need the humidity up until lock down. If I remember right, I kept it at 30% until lock down...but then you do need to get it up. It goes up easier when they start hatching too...and then you'll freak 'cause it's too high.....

ah, why am I trying to help....it's stressing me out just worrying about your incubator! Good luck, I'll be living vicariously through you and the others who have the nerves for it.

I was able to see the pics everytime, perhaps it was just your viewer. Those are very nice roos, I hope they get a good home.

Spoke to John about the WH's in Nevada City and he really wants to hatch our own. We shall see how it goes for our first time at this. The incubator is doing great with the temp but a bit low now on the humidity. We have all the wells filled and 3 sponges and we can't get the humidity above 55%, what do we do now? Setting the eggs in there on Sunday so we need to fix this right away.

I just had another manager come to me about the position, asking me to reconsider. Well I found out there wouldn't be a pay raise so I would be making what I'm making right now, um thanks but no thanks.

i guess that confirmed your decision, sheryl.

it was a 3-egg day today! Gunda's egg, and then a wyandotte and an australorp. My husband saw them in the nest box together and there were 2 eggs in there when i got home. Now I'm really wondering who laid the first couple of eggs. they were quite big and lighter in color than these other eggs.

ONE INCUBATOR???????????

Really? Do people only own one?

Wow, I'm shocked!

ROFL
OK, now I gotta know. How many bators do you have Kim? As many as Karen?
And we're still waiting on the underwear story. You can't through out a leader like that and not tell us what it means.

What Pam left out of her story is that she broke her tibia rushing up the stairs to go check on the eggs in the bator (yet again) while half asleep. She is one of those folks that cares a little too much about her hatches to ever do it again. I think her hubby wants to keep her around for awhile, minus the broken bones if he can help it. I think she told this story here awhile ago but there are quite a few new folks since then.

Congrats on the eggs Elizabeth. You can use a bit of food coloring to color the vent of each hen to tell who is laying what egg, if you really want to know, but over time you will probably catch them all at it and will figure it out anyway. Oh don't use red or green food coloring they will peck at it. Use blue, purple, yellow, black...

LOL Sheryl! Well that made it a no-brainer. Some companies seem to have no idea that they are shooting themselves in the foot when they decide to cut costs at... well... any cost.

6 bators? Whoa! Is the hand feeling any better at all or does it still hurt like holy heck?

Fading quickly..... I'll have to get my answer tomorrow.

Had the whole thing redo today. The first splint was too tight. The plaster was pressing on a nerve and it really felt like a second break. Hurts like heck right now. Oh and I was able to see the bruising today.MAN!!
No wonder it hurts so bad. I think the bruises hurt worse than the break at this point.
