Nevadans?

Yeah I love it here. Spend too much time on here.

Kim we are setting up a separate covered run for the Polish since it seems that all other chickens will peck at the crest of these birds. With that vaulted skull making their poor little brains so vulnerable I just feel better if they have their own area. A covered run will keep their crests dry and warm too. Been reading up on the breed quite a bit. The to do list just got even longer.

OMG! I hope it isn't anything I said. Before I lost Bling, my BLP roo he was out with the others and not even the roos bothered him. Those BR girls and one Dom would pick on them, but not even one lost a crest. They usually just hung around together.

I posted on here yesterday but it didnt go through!!! And Im not getting the notifications. What's up with that? Anyway, I want to do the hatch along thing for easter, but I need to get an incubator first!! Really looking forward to that. Does anyone local have any eggs I can incubate? For some reason, my roos keep throwing cool chicks for the most part, but about a quarter of them just turn out all black. Plus, some purebred birds would be nice. ^^
Guys, I'm so sorry to hear about your kids. I couldnt hang with that. If a man ever hits me, then I'm probably going to prison unless I can pass it off as temorary insanity when I kill the ******. I will not live that life. If you need help, message me.

On a brighter note, though it seems so out of context for the current topic of conversation:

1) Sheryl, I just gave your cream puff recipe to my older sister. She's making it right now.

2) The next step on the coop is done... these are the hinged lids to the nesting boxes. I need to brush them with a protectorant, then apply latches, hinges, and handles. The walls and hardware cloth go up on Saturday, if it can dry out long enough. Never mind if... Russ leaves town on Thursday. Those walls will go up.

Now does anyone have recommendations on a brand of super-heavy-duty outdoor polyurethane to prolong the lives of these babies?

Great, let me know how they turn out!!

Oh WOW MISSY! How beautiful! I love how you got the WH in there and she looks exactly like my Sierra. All the down to her pretty feathering and the Wyandotte looks exactly like my Winnona! I would love to have you paint my laying box area sorta like this. I have no idea how to even preserve this.

I have 2 BPR, one of them is the sweetest and the other is Bella's mortal enemy. She attacks Bella when ever she can have the chance to do it but then again Bella was very mean to her first. Most people talk how loving their BPR's are.

missy those look beautiful. I use a spray on clear epoxy from the spray paint section when i make my gravestones and they are holding strong out in the dirt and the muck.

My bantam Polish were hatched and raised with LF Blue Laced Red Wyandottes and the only problem I had was that the rooster chicks liked to playfully jump on the other chicks and I was afraid they would hurt the bantams as they got bigger than them. I put my 6 week old buff x wheaten Ameraucana chicks in with the full grown bantam Polish girls and they get along fine. The Polish girls were the aggressors, but once they felt they had made it clear to the chicks they weren't to be messed with, everyone gets along just fine. The Buff x Wheatens are especially docile though.
