Very nice chickens peeps! I love their coloring.

Wynnie has 1 egg left to go. When I candled all the eggs before lockdown it showed I had 12 living and growing but they are not as active like the ones last month. We shall see. 1 egg has a pip in it and it's rocking, I'm hoping it will break through by morning. I'm hoping for 15 ducklings now.

Another chick hatched early this morning. It's a girl for sure and I realized I mistaken the first 1 for a girl but it is a boy. I shall keep everyone updated. The count now is 2 boys 1 girl.

You'll have plenty of time to have poultry a few years down the road when you're done with college. Just be sure you don't buy a house in a place where chickens are illegal or there are restrictions in the cc&rs!

I found one of the norwegian jaerhon dead in the brooder

Not sure what happened. Last time the same thing happened to one of the BLRW chicks. I guess I just won't ever know why.

Awww, sorry to hear that. Mine aren't doing well, either. But I can't bring myself to cull them yet.

Sunny, do you think maybe it's the weather? Whenever we get rain or snow, it seems like that's the excuse for most malfunctions.

Oh no Elizabeth and Missy! I'm so sorry. Elizabeth is it possible they are rough housing a lot?

I can't believe the humidity and temp is perfect this time and it's showing. Another egg had just pipped before I left to come to work. I can't wait to see it when it hatches. It also looks like one of the eggs went through the vein too soon and it's not moving, the egg has a black circle that looks like it could be blood.

thanks, sheryl. the jaers are very jumpy so maybe. They go in the corners and try to fly up.

You really are having better success this time around. hope it continues! sorry about the one that didn't hatch.
