Well the Washoe State Nursery opened Thursdsay. I was there bright and early this AM, not really expecting any of the good stuff to be left but they had some reallly nice trees this year! And, I managed to talk them out of a couple of Mtn. Alders which I've been trying to get for the last two years, but they were always out by the time I got over there. I guess the lady felt sorry for me so she gave me some that were supposed to be reserved for some conservation group up in Tahoe. WooHoo! If anyone needs trees better get over there quick!

thanks sunny. I did put a fan in two fans in there- one by the window and one facing into the nest box. Poor little suckers! maybe we can put an out fan in the south window and an in fan in the north window. ...

Seriously folks. These girls are OUT OF CONTROL. I have had such a pleasant and mellow day today and just thought i would enjoy myself a nice bowl of chili beans on the back patio. Boy was i wrong. the girls had other ideas. It started with toe biting and ended with naners INSIDE my bowl and me being overtaken by the whole flock. I guess long story short- they won and im sad

hahaha!!! Yea my chickens love chili beans but then again so do the dogs and us so maybe it's a universal thing. Really fantastic pics! They tell a great story!

And they have gas.....do chickens get gas? Looked delicious, hope you had a big pot of it.

LOL I have no idea if chickens get gas! Never heard a chicken toot.

That still sucks Aubrey! Dang, I would threaten them with the stew pot but of course I don't believe they would take me seriously though since I haven't done that deed yet.

All the new chickens and ducks are in with the older ones now. They are doing great. It's like I have this new zen in there with them ever since Wynonna died. No one is bothering the little ones at all. The little ones are even allowed to roost with them which is a huge deal. Last year Bella wouldn't let any chicken roost until they were laying eggs but not this time. It's like they are one big happy family. I'm so surprised by this. Nonni said put them all together now. There won't be any issues with any of them. Boy was she right.

The only problem I'm having is with the drakes. Justin is feeling that Mo is going to try to take his lady ducks but Mo isn't there yet for that to even happen. Justing hasn't hurt him but he does chase him away from the girls. Harmony hangs out with Mo and the chickens. Bella came too close to the little chickens at first and Mo hissed at her and chased her away. It took Mo a bit to understand she was just checking out the new members of the flock.
