I don't think anyone will be in a big hurry to leave OUR wedding

TOTALLY JOKING. Hee hee!
The party was going strong so we had neglected to do the cake. Didn't want to stop the paaaartyyyy!
lol.png
But after these people asked three times I was so ticked I was going to go cut them a piece of cake and let them be on their way! But my husband stopped me. I went on the dance floor and got my daughter and husband to do the cake. Really rude people.

At my brothers funeral we had these people who no one even knew. They stayed all afternoon into the evening. The family was cleaning up and they were still out on the front deck enjoying the view, food and drink when I explained that my parents had just buried their son and that everyone else was gone and it was time for them to go. On their way out the woman grabbed a full bottle of wine off the table. My husband stopped her and told her that was not a party favor! I tell you the nerve of some people! We found out later they were funeral crashers! They didn't even know my brother! It makes my blood boil to this day to recall my parents out there trying to be good hosts to these people on such a difficult day.
Quote: Before we moved my studio up town, I had a big beautiful studio....it's actually our house now! And now I can't get anything done in my studio because I'm too busy trying to run the businesses! My passion is sculpting but I haven't touched clay in way too many years. I have a glass kiln and love working with hot glass but again, I only get to do what I'm paid to do. Has anyone worked with the silver clay? You can sculpt it, then fire it and have solid silver jewelry! Cool stuff.

LOVE IT! Good find! Haha!
Yep sunny, there's room to dance in front of the stage!
Woo hoo!

Now you'll never get rid of us! hee hee

Oh that is heartbreaking to hear!!! I've heard of wedding crashers but I had no idea there were people that crashed funerals! That is about as low as you can go as a human being without doing something illegal.

Oh man!!! That sounds sooo cool! No I've never heard of it.

Now I want to get back into sculpting! Seriously how expensive would it be to set up our own mud house to heat a crucible and melt metal here. The fire codes would probably forbid it though.
hmm.png
I do enjoy clay too but I love stone and I really love lost wax for bronzes.

Pam that's a terrible story :( I can't even imagine having that kind of nerve!

Sunny if you do want to get into sculpting mark has a small kiln that I bet he would let you borrow

Couldn't you completely clear cut an area to put your crucible in? I'm sure you would probably just have to meet certain code requirements and it could be done. Worth a try?

Having a kiln would be awesome!!! I've never used molds. I've sculpted stone, clay and done the lost wax thing for bronzes though. I really love to sculpt but haven't done it in awhile. It's awfully space and time consumptive (is that a word?). Would soooo love to get into it again if I had the space and money. Lost wax was my favorite! Anyone here have a spare crucible laying around?

Actually, yes! Well, maybe not a spare one...

I have a kiln that I use for testing mineral samples (assaying). Prospecting for gold is one of my hobbies.

Hey, I stumbled across a picture and thought of you Aubrey!

Isn't that just too cute!???

I absolutely cannot believe anyone would crash a funeral! Then hang out partying. And top it off by stealing? It's so sad to witness the decay of our society!

I've never heard of the silver clay but that sounds so cool! OK, Google, here I come!

Nothing I've done has fixed the problem with this site. Everything runs together and I can't even post pics! Amazing how low people can be. Someone at the cemetery and this is a National Cemetery, tried to grab flowers off of the displays at Bill's funeral. They weren't even supposed to be in that area since they were either visiting someone or at another funeral. Jerks. I can't believe anyone would dare go to someone's home! That's just lower than words. Bill bough me silver clay just before he died, but I didn't have him to help me build an area for the kiln and just wasn't into anything, so my sister had a friend that needed to make some money and I gave it to her to use. I'd love to have a glass kiln! I've done lots of dichronic glass pieces. It wasn't really a mediom of mine, but I did like it and it sold. I have tons of gem stones. The only silver I have now is wire, but I love working with it when I can get my hands to do what I want. I started out with beadwork when I was 4. I was luck enough to have a gggrandmother who taught me peyote beading and loom work. I rarely use a loom these days though. I like being able to take things with me to work on. Well I did when Bill was here to drive, but I can do just as good with off loom, so I do that more often. My mom taught me to sew when I was 9. I had such long legs she said zi needed to know how. I only bought my leather coats and jackets and jeans when I was in high school and jr high. Everything else I made including my jewelry. I mad a lot of money on jewelry in high school. I have a cousin that went to school with me who still has a choker I made for her and wears it when she goes out. :) I love that she liked it so much and has had it all these years! I made my mom a lot of things, but after she died I have no idea what happened to any of it. Most of her things we thrashed or given to strangers. My 2 brothers and my youngest sister have things, but I got zip. Oh well.

I fixed my problem.

I can't find any of the cake pics but this one

I hope I haven't lost them all, but Veronica did this one for one of my other daughter's friend's baby shower.
