Never owned a chicken. Have 8 new chicks. What is this? :)

As you can see, the other 7 chicks are different than Mr. Oreo (and quite difficult for us to tell apart).
Can anyone tell us what breed these are? Or are they mixed like Mr. Oreo?
Thanks again. :)

Not sure if they're mixed if they're consistently solid buff with no black in their tails or wings. Solid buff or red is not an easy color to maintain and is easily lost by mixing with appearance of black on neck, tail and wings in particular.

A bit stumped, my only thought is Buff Rocks? Only breed I can think of that is heavy/dual purpose(what their and Oreo's type is), solid buff color with clear yellow legs. They can't be Buff Orpingtons, a very common buff colored breed because that breed has white legs.

I'll be interested to see what guesses others come up with these as for breed.

Now the bad news- it kind of seems you got a lot of boys? Chicks that show a lot of comb with obvious pink/hints of red so young are usually boys. Girl combs normally stay very small and colorless until they near egg laying condition. In the very last picture, if those two are exactly the same age- within a week that is a good comparison of possible girl on left and a probable boy on right.

Welcome to the world of chickens. This forum has been a life saver for me. Didnt join until today but I have referred to these forums since bringing home my chicks as this is my first time raising chickens myself!

Not aure on breed but the center chick looks like a roo judging by the size and color of the comb

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I really appreciate your time (and knowledge)! It looks like we have a lot of males then. :(
After reading your post, I went out and photographed them. Sounds like we will be lucky if 2 of the 8 are female.
I will try to get the pics up soon, and if you have time, maybe you can give us your opinion on the sex of the chicks?
Thanks again, everyone.

Sure, that's what this area of the forum is for. Bring on the pictures. Whole body shots from the side is best.

I am going to say Red Sex Link on your red ones...how old are they? Side shots are the best for us to help you identify....

Here is a shot of one of my RSL: also called a Gold Comet, or Red Stars

Its hard to tell on your shots, what color legs does yours have?
