UPDATE:
Well I decided to run a really hot shower in our tiny bathroom to steam up the room. Then I opened up the bator to check on them.

The 3 that had pipped-
1st- no progress in 16hrs, alive and moving
2nd- no progress in 13hrs, alive and moving, membrane at crack looks a little dry
3rd- no progress in 8hrs, alive

All 10 appear to be alive from candling and most look like they’ve internally pipped. I don’t know how to tell if the membrane has dried out but on one it looks like it possibly had dried up. I dampened all the pips with a warm wet sponge and left the sponge in there to increase the humidity. :fl

Any advice welcome!! :D:D
:fl I am rooting for you and yours, good luck dear.

UPDATE:

Day 29

8 happy healthy babies!! :celebrateThey are skittering around the bottom of my bath tub right now and having a blast! *pics coming soon*

They were all supposed to be Rouhens.... but I’m pretty sure 2 aren’t. :eek:One is midnight black and the other is yellow and black... mostly yellow and the beak is pink. They are precious! I like having a few different ones.

I have never hatched babies and I have never seen one hatch, I bet it is cool and scary at the same time. Are the ones in the bat or making noise at all...I don’t know if you can hear through one of those.

No they aren’t, but the other babies I could hear peeping in the Bator. I’m worried these last 2 might not be quite right. They are so quiet and still and haven’t made any effort to hatch.

The other 8 though were peeping so much after they pipped!

Oh my gosh, you poor dear, you must be going nuts. Are you pacing? I would be pacing. Why does it take so long...I mean I had a kid faster than that!

@Pyxis Do you have any suggestions for the last 2 in the bator?

I opened up the air cell last night because both had not made any progress from internal pip and it had been quite a long time.

I could see very tiny veins and they were yawning but I couldn’t tell if anything else was wrong, such as being positioned incorrectly.

I put them back in the bator overnight with no progress this morning. BOTH are alive but very quiet. No talking at all.

I was thinking about opening just a little more up this morning to get an idea if anything is wrong with them.... does this seem ok?? I’m not really sure how to proceed since they are so unusually quiet

Oh you have no idea!! I thought for sure I’d check this morning and they would be out.... but nothing so far. :th

My husbands been teasing that he’s going to find me sleeping in the bathroom floor by the bator. It’s been tempting for sure!!

Here they are!! These are my 8 little cuties!

In the first picture the one all the way to the left (all black) and the one all the way to the right (pink beak & orange feet) are my odd balls. I added a picture of just the 2 of them.

Any guesses what they might be??
