new batch..join me!

Hard to believe we are 9 days into this! I have 22 in the bator...not going to candle..just wait and see what hatches! And already planning my next bator batch!

How is it going for everyone so far? I'm on day 9. Candled a little while ago and can see moving embryos in 11 of my 13 eggs!

I candled last night, day 7 for me. I saw movement and good veins in 15 of 18 eggs!

The 3 eggs I'm not sure of are very dark brown and one had tons of speckles when I candled it. These 3 may be fine but it was hard for me to see anything clearly. Maybe on day 14 I will be able to tell for sure. It was so exciting to see signs of life!

I don't know how you can stand not candling! I've just got to know. I guess though since this is my first time, it's a lot harder to resist.

I tried candling the last batch and didn't see anything cuz I don't know how really! And they did hatch...thinking of trying again but now i'm afraid to take them out of the bator and have it open that long!

there is no problem opening the incubator not even as they say the last tree days because you loose humidity imo (i do it 20 years now)
the mother chicken (brooding) can leave the nest some times more than half an hour to poo eat and drink and the chicks continue to hatch

really...I plan on opening it to remove chicks as they hatch, but as little as possible! I might try candling tonight..but if I see them swimming around in there I might get addicted to candling too!
