Thanks! I've decided to name him Dash

! I know what you mean about the long crow - I always thought Rocky was going to pass out!

Well, Bruno is in full hormone mode. He is grabbing girls left and right. Just saw him grab poor Betsy by the wing and swing her in a circle. This a.m., one of Hector's girls ran into the roll up door of the barn with Bruno hot on her heels. That is new-he's been afraid of them until now. Poor Bash is aptly named because he gets bashed in the head by Bruno daily. He's just a sweet angel compared to Bruno the Great now, LOL.

Poor girls!

Yes, they sure are. Seems not quite fair that the boys mature so much faster than their girls. Those girls are not nearly ready for all that romance, if you can call it that. Bruno is becoming just a humongous boy-I watched him walk up the roost, not jump, walk. They are both really tall now.

Did Hector have something to say about Bruno chasing one of his girls? I feel bad for Bash as I see what my dominant rooster does to the one below him.
I didn't see where Hector was, probably out of sight of what happened. If he'd seen it, he'd have been all over Bruno. He rules the Brahmas, or does at this point in time. But, I may have to stop allowing them out at the same time if Bruno, big as he'll get, insists on grabbing the smaller girls.

Bruno was a bad boy today. The second time I let his group out for a late afternoon session, I opened the pen door and as I opened it, stepped behind it out of the way of thundering feet. Bruno was first out, but he did not run out. He zipped around the door and faced me, head down, as if he was going to attack my feet or legs. I stomped my foot at him and grabbed a long switch and chased him around the building, but seriously, I do not need his attitude. If he flogs me, it's all over. No second chances. I already have too many males around here to worry about one hormone-driven moose of a cockerel. Bash is absolutely the opposite of Bruno in temperament so far, so I still have a good male for the five pullets if I have to let Bruno go. Someone else may just swoon over him and want him, being as rare as he is, and have time to spend dealing with him, but I don't. Brat.
