I posted them on my fb and people were like why are you photographing chickens?!?! I want to get better with the camera so I can frame some nice portraits.

we used to have some but those dumb dogs just have to kill anything they can get there stupid mouths on!

there was Sandy and stinker it was a Girl and sandy was a Boy kinda funny boy gets girl name and girl gets a boy name! so your getting snow? well we still have gotten NO snow and it is January! anyway have fun with your new camera and all your chickens!

Haha yes, it was christmass morning. I'm pretty far north, we've gotten a fair bit of snow so far! I thought for sure my rooster was a girl for a long time. That how he got named Honey.

You are right... Naming roosters is very serious business... I have a Roger, Rod Stewart, Florus (french male name) Fritz the Jerk, Pat ( because Pat wasn't very clear on what he was until he crow at nearly 8 months old. He still looks like he could be a girl). Have also had a Oscar the Great, a one pound bantam roo, Mr. Fluffers, previously named Fluffy from the people I got him from... so not dignified for such a great rooster. I am also currently considering naming another one David Bowie because his hackle/head do look like David Bowies from Labrynth... Also had a Mr. Feathers and Fibber Magee.

Button Boots is a pretty girl. Think you are right, Light Brahma... I have a few light brahma faverolle mixed hens... Lovely girls... here's one...

Oh gosh look at her~! I'm going to have to get a pic of my Hen Golda. I didn't get her in the shots. She is white with brown, black and red speckles all over. She is my fifth generation barnyard mix.

I give my Roo's long fancy names becuase when I was young I had a pure bred dog who was named Lord Maxwell Oliver Gypsian, son of Elijah, Duke of York. We actually call Lt. Reginald honeydew, just plain Honey. And his dad was snowflake or Just Flakey. I whole heartedly approve of the name fluffy. and also Oscar the great and florus. I have a second roo I'm fostering (hopefully I don't get stuck with him) and I've named him Buckbeak from harry part cause he has just the most monsterous head.
