New Chick, Bleeding from umbilical cord!! Update:She didn't make it :(

i think you did good with the clotting medicine. Give it some time. Chicks have an amazing ability to heal. Keep it separated from other chicks for the time being. i suspect it will close up and heal within 48 hours. i have had similar issues and they went on to become big healthy chickens.

Good luck and keep us posted!

The yolk was completely absorbed. My humidity is running high in my bator right now, so I took it out and put it in a box on a towel under a light so that it can get warm and dry. My chicks are having a hard time drying off with the humidity so high. This has been a terrible, stressful hatch!!

If the bleeding has stopped then I would just leave it in the bator so any others won't peck it. In my opinion I think there really isn't anything else to do but wait. I think it will be fine, I have had them hatch like that and after a couple hours you couldn't even tell it looked different. Good luck

Do you have any Aeromycin (available for $3-4 at most feed stores) antibacterial medicine powder? If so, dust some where the bleeding is. That will help it clot, plus do wonders at helping prevent infection.
If you don't have Aeromycin, you can try using a little white flour to help with clotting, and later pour some Betadine on the area if you have that.
This saved my chick I know I'm late by 14 years but I cannot thank you enough my dad was convinced this little guy wouldnt make it now my miracle chick is fluffy vocal and curios he always makes sure I'm still here when he wakes up then goes right back to sleep he was hatched this morning
