@aart yes I did use sand for a while but it got stinky and wet from the sides even in a covered run. So I did some research and come across easibed. It is quite fine but a lot chunkier than traditional shavings. It isn't absorbing and drys quickly when it does get wet. It's great stuff it works really well for me here in the uk .
