New Feature - Breed Selection Tool - Search Tool

I just tried it, twice, because I think it would really be helpful for me and got . . .

nothing. Twice. I guess this means that the selector thinks I shouldn't have chickens at all! LOL!

Is there something special that I have to do, or not do?

I tried it a few times. First time I checked egg layer and it did not give me any of the dual purpose birds. Every time I unchecked flighty, noisy agressive, wild - and Leghorn came up every time. This is a great idea. I have always used the breed selection tool on MPC and always felt their database was incomplete. I feel the database here is much more complete but the search engine needs a little tuning....joe

I think it would be clearer if the selections were changed to "eggs only", "meat only", and "both eggs and meat", instead of "eggs", "meat", and "dual purpose". The search for "both eggs and meat" could still be for "dual purpose" so no change to the data base would be required, just in the selection screen. I know, it would probably require reprogramming of the search engine too, but I think you expected to do some tweeking anyway.

That still would not solve the problem that, if you select "eggs only", you eliminate all the dual purpose breeds, and many "eggs only" people want the dual purpose breeds even if they do not want to eat them. Maybe if the "eggs only" search came up with both "eggs only" chickens and "both eggs and meat" breeds?

I really like it, and it suggested a couple breeds I was not familiar with which was fun.

The Brabanter had no image and its page was empty of information, however when I searched for it under the breed index it does indeed have a page full of pictures and information. I could see and read about all the other suggested breeds though.

I like it! It worked great and suggested some breeds I haven't heard of.

Ok, I tried it but using the base of my favorite breed as a scope, nothing came up. Could this be because there isn't anything posted about the breed?
