Sponsored Post New Giveaway: Try out the Southern States Poultry Pal App for a chance to win!

I downloaded the app, Poultry Pal about a week ago, and the first thing I noticed when I had downloaded it is the way the app looks. I really love the colors used, and the design of it. It is a very easy app to use and I love the different features it has. From making profiles for your chickens, and to the really great Egg Tracker feature this app has. After using Poultry Pal for a while, I came to the conclusion that this fun and simple app is MUCH easier than keeping a pile of papers about your chicken's information. I can use this app without having to get out a pen and paper, and with this wonderful app, you don't have to worry about losing all of those papers. My favorite feature in this app is probably the "manage my flock" category, not only because it's easier than a little hand-made chart, but also because I have all of my notes for my beloved chickens right in my pocket! Poultry Pal is my new favorite app and I will definitely be using it lots more in the future!

I have this app. And I do love it but wish it had to were we could do like a baby book and do growth pics in the managing my flock. Like baby, one month. Three months. Adult. So we can alway remember.
Also there are no silkies on the breeds.
I can't choose polish on my manage my flock

So add polish. Silkie. Old English game bantam.
There are alot of breed missing on the manage my flock. Or make it to where we can enter the breed in place of the other.
Thanks
Charlotte
To add to my previous comment. I would like to add. That many of us get lot with chicken math. Lol. But anyways we love to incubate and hatch our own eggs. So with that said a place to keep track of the eggs we put in the incubator would be a heaven scent. Like day eggs put in. How many. What breeds Lockdown reminder and hatch date. Also we would be able to keep track of the clears ( infertile) blood rings and viable. Candel dates on 7 10 18. Then amour that hatched. Flock eggs. Local eggs or shipped eggs. Air cells. I know that is alot to think about but I know alot of us at byc would love to have it and I would pay extra for the incubating chart. But we all know free is better.
I know alot of is have common or unusual breeds and some breeders are working on project breeds. So my idea to add the breed you want in the place of other would help out everyone and very versatile. You can add your own breed.
I have had your app since it came out and I love it for the fact it makes things alot easier. Thank you for thinking of all of us to help you out with your app and get all kinds of feedback. Thank you for creating this app for us chicken loves!

I am assuming you can put your paragraph here??

O.K, I really liked the idea of PoultryPal, It looks good, simple and could be helpful but for me it just hasn't quite worked. I found that on my Android the app doesn't seem to fit, half of it is cut off especially when I go into "Manage My Flock", all the dates are off the screen and the chickens name is cut is half etc. Also, I am here in Australia and the dates on the app keep confusing me. The date set on the app is Month/day/year but over here in Australia the date goes Day/Month/Year, so I thought that was another downfall for me. On the other hand I really like the egg tracker, it is so much easier to use then writing it down in a book which I usually do. Another problem I found though with the app was the breeds, there defiantly needs to be more breeds added to choose from when you are in "Manage my flock". Some of the breeds you could choose from where a Babcock White Leghorn and Tetra Tint, what are breed are they?? It did have the common breeds like RIR's and Australorps but where was Silkie and Welsummer or Minorca and Sussex??? I would also like to see it available on PC or MAC.
As I said before, a really good idea but just needs a bit of twigging.

I had downloaded this app months ago shortly after getting my first chickens. I like the color scheme and the simplicity of the logos and icons I think that the app needs a few more things. I wish that it had a more comprehensive breed list on the drop down menu. However an option to type something in for a breed could make it easier. It would also help to have a gender option in the chickens profiles. I would also like to be to organize chickens into "coops". One of my biggest problems is that after the last update to the app I lost all of the chickens I had programed into my Flock. Overall I think the app has great potential, but needs a few updates to make it more satisfying.
