New Hen - Adapting timeline?

I’m a new backyard chicken owner, I got my first ladies last year. I just got a silkie hen (she’s currently in quarantine) how long until she adjust to her new life? She’s been with me a week now and still exhibiting a lot of nervousness and stress. She is eating/drinking/pooping but she occasionally pants and doesn’t want me to touch her or come near her crate.

Quarantine takes 3 to 4 weeks. Take the opportunity to spend time with your silkie each day. Repetitive schedule will help. Maybe give her a physical exam if she's on your lap. Giving her small treats to get her to feel comfortable by your presence. Just keep the routine up and she will eventually calm down around you.

Talk to her as you hold her. The repetitive sound of your voice may stimulate mesotocin hormone which causes bonding in birds as oxytocin does in humans and pet dogs.
